Beware! Skin pic inside! lol
So I must be a crazy woman to even put this picture up. But I am on this page to help others by being honest and showing the good and the bad about surgery. I may be saggy but 165lbs smaller and I'm strong! Here is a picture of me last night when I came back from my walk/jog. I hate my skin but it will all be cut off in due time so what the hell.
I am so frustrated with my weight. It seems like no matter what I do I can't lose any weight! My lowest weight was 146 lbs and I've been a stable 151 ALL month. I started exercising so I really was hoping it would jump start the weightloss buuuuut NO. This is the part of surgery that seems to be the hardest. I thought it would get easier with time! PS: I hope I don't offend anyone with my floppy skin pic! Lol
Does anyone have any advice for me to lose more weight at 16 months post op?

I don't understand what skin your talking about? I think you look great! As far as weight loss I'd just think i'd be back to basics Also weight isn't as important as body fat percentage. You look pretty toned to me.
Ummmm Ya....what floppy skin exactly?
Here is what I know, which isn't much. When you start exercising your body tones and firms but you might actually go UP in weight. Because of course, muscle weighs more then fat.
I think you should put the scale away and focus on what you see in the mirror and in your pictures and how your cloths fit, rather then the number on the scale.
You have done REMARKABLY well.... and I'm not just saying that. I have shared your before and after picture (along with a few other peoples) to the family/friends I have told about my choice to have surgery... you know what happens? They have 100 questions, I answer, they have 100 comments, I respond.... I show them your picture and they say... "Wow, Ok I can see why you would be seriously considering this" then they ask if they can see your pic again.
Chin up girl exersize will make you FEEL better, will help tone things but won't necessarily move the scale....perhaps 150 is your new normal...And you look AMAZING!!

I have no advice on how to break your stall, but I think you look FABULOUS! I'd be thrilled if my skin looked that good, but I fear it won't since my arms are already pretty sagg-tastic and I'm still pre op lol. Took a peak at your before pics and WOW you've done amazing!
We had our surgery around the same time. I just lost weight for the first time in a few months. I wouldn't call it a stall because I wasn't really trying.
I wouldn't blame exercise because you already was stagnate. So keep up the exercise.
But you can out eat any exercise program.
So what I did was change my diet. I knew how important tracking is but I hated it. I still don't like it, but I said that if I ever slowed down then I would start doing it. So I joined myfitnesspal. It is the easiest tracking that I ever experienced. That being said, I still didn't put in a legitimate change in my eating until this week.Yet, I was on myfitnesspal for about 2 months. Due to life changes, I just wasn't ready to focus yet, but I was maintaining. I was able to face how many calories I was eating during that 2 months.
I make sure to get my minimum protein, but I focus a lot more on vegetables. I don't snack on protein because they are high in calories compared to vegetables.Vegetable soups and salads are common for me. During this life transition, I developed a snacking habit that was getting in the way of weightloss. Now I snack on salad. I also cut out processed food and almost all salt. In my first week of this, I lost 5.8 pounds. Even if it slows down, I can see from my food diary on myfitnesspal that I am consuming fewer calories, and that matters a lot.
That was my situation.

Amber,
You look beautiful. I see none of the sagging you are apologizing for in that pic.
I think the only answer to a stall is journaling the food intake honestly and tweeking the calories if too high. If you are honestly staying within the guidelines, then perhaps due to your workouts you need to up the calories.
Congrats on a beautiful journey.
Brava,
Sharon

Hey AmberLee --
I get it, the skin is there, and we don't see it like you do -- best suggestion, get a plastics consult. If you have a professional tell you that you look great, you may feel better at your current weight -- or the doc may be able to "tighten up" your strong frame ;)
I still have a LONG way to go - I lost over 200 pounds, yet still have another 200 to go. I already got the panniculectomy, and it isn't perfect, but made me feel amazing.
Maybe you need to look at your photos side by side - and STOP looking at the number on the scale? Numbers will drive us all insane -- but if you need to lose more -- maybe go chat with your doctor. As you lose weight, it takes LESS to keep the body going, but there is a limit as to how few calories you can take in, especially if you are burning off so many with exercise.
Do what YOU need to do to feel good about you. We all would LOVE to be your present size -- it's all about hard work, determination, and willing to change our lives ;)
Congrats on the 165 pound loss!!!! You look great, and I hope to finally have your physique at the end of my journey!

I am closing in on my 2 year surgery anniversary -- I started at 474 - currently 272 (after gaining back 12)
