Just need to say it somewhere
Please do NOT get scared of not losing on an 800 calorie diet! You will lose - in fact you are MORE likely to lose on an 800 cal diet than you are on a 600 cal diet because your body will not go into starvation mode and hold on for dear life to your weight, and b.) you will have the energy to keep moving and be active.
Good for you for realizing you need some outside help.
I'd also like to recommend meditation - it has been critical for me in managing my own anxiety, keeping my mood even and in managing emotional eating. Science is showing now that doing a mindfulness based stress reduction program (20 mins/day) can help build new neural pathways in the brain, reduce cortizol production and increase the production of seratonin and other coping chemicals of the brain.
Jon Kabat Zinn has a great series of guided meditations that are very easy to do. You can get them at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Guided-Mindfulness-Meditation-Series-1 /dp/1591793599, (or you can find places online to download them if you don't have the means to get them). There are also a few on YouTube to get you started: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aoOlUWO_ak
Best of luck!
