Kind of an atheistic agnostic with leanings towards spiritualism. LOL I know it's complicated. But it works for me.

Had VSG 07/20/12 and have lost 66lbs total from my beginning journey, 40 since surgery.

Hi Cat,

Your journey is beyond impressive. You go girl!!!!!

It took me 5 minutes to type the last sentence because my three male  cats have surrounded me and keep walking on the keyboard and head-butting me . It's a love fest here right now. I have one little guy who only comes out when I am typing or talking on the phone. I think he gets jealous that I am not looking for him or something......

My last boss called himself an atheistic agnostic also, so there are a few of you in this world .

So happy for your loss.

Best,

Sharon

Another Canuck, this one in Toronto, 20 months out, 190 down, more to go.... at least to get under 200, hopefully lower.

Married 8 years to my dearest love, who just had his surgery a month back. No kids.

What a wonderful journey you are having! I think it is great you and your honey can do this together. My husband is 6' and weighs 230 so he cannot have the surgery because his low weight does not meet the guideline. I am hoping the guidelines change because he has very bad diabetes and hypertention. I worry about his kidneys and liver because he takes so much medication.

Have a lovely day and thanks for sharing!

Sharon

Well there are a couple of up and coming surgeries which might be fit for lightweights at somepoint soon...

Like the endobarrier and gastric baloons and such... hope something like that works for him.

I feel very lucky that my hubby is now along for the ride with me.... both for his health and for my feeling of being together against the world!

Cheers!

Hi everyone! I'm a few days post-op VSG, and I just discovered this cool forum!

My name is Andrea, and I'm 36 years old. I have a not-quite 2 year old son, 2 adult stepdaughters, and the most amazing husband in the world! Before I became a stay at home mom, I worked as a computer geek. Oh, and my husband is from France, and we've visited and LOVE Quebec. Bonjour aux Quebecois! Our son is learning both languages, and it is amazing! I'm sure we'll have many family vacations up to Quebec in the future :) I am also a Christian, grew up in an evangelical family, and I'm learning to Give It to God on this journey!

Hi Andrea,

Congrats on getting to the loser's bench!

It sounds like you have a very full and lovely life. I have a not-quite 2 year old grandson and boy does he keep this Oma running. That will help you with the weight loss as well.

French is a gorgeous language and we have a good friend who is from Belgium. Their kids are bilingual and speak French as their first language and English as their second. Their 2 year old barely speaks english and their Americanborn mom who is an emergency room physician and is working all the time, has a real adventure trying to communicate with him. It is so cute to watch. It is adorable to listen to him spew french.

I gave myweight loss journey to Jesus and have been at peace with my journey.

I will pray for your journey as well.

Blessings,

Sharon

Thank you so much Sharon! I'm learning just how much of a food addict I am. All I've wanted to do for the past two days is EAT. ANYTHING. I miss food like crazy. But I am doing fine on clear liquids... just making sure I mix it up a lot to avoid getting too bored with this. I appreciate any and all prayers!

As kids, when my girls would talk to each other in public, it would really turn heads. Everyone loved listening to them speaking French to each other. I miss those days!
