Hi Karine,

French even sounds good when you type it!

The kids probably keep you very busy. I really miss when my daughter was small. Especially before she hit pubert.!

You are having an amazing weight loss journe!. Congrats. I am so happy for you and for all of us. It feels so good to be losing instead of gaining for a change.

Exercise was harder tostart than deciding to have the surgery. Probably because I was a veteran at dieting. Moving is the key.

Have a great day!

Sharon

My name is Brittany, I will be 26 on the 2nd, and I am in school for medical assisting. (graduate in may)
I had VSG Feb. 16th and have lost 112 total so far, still have about 200 to go!
I am planning my wedding to my sweetheart, it will be August 31st 2013 (stressful, but fun)
I love my sleeve! Some days I feel like I ate so much, but when I add it up its still 800 calories or below so I am truly satisfied. It seems a little effortless really.
I have 2 little girls :)

Hi Brittany,

I have 2 nieces named Brittany. Both of my sister-in-laws loved the name so much, they both decided to use it.

Congrats on the dramatic weight loss. You are doing so wonderfully.

I know what you mean about filling that pouch. Mine gets filled so fast, I find I am full before I even bein to enjoy what is one my plate. I am trying to remember to eat more often but it takes practice after all these years of eating wrong.

So nice to meet you.

Sharon

Hi Bethanne,

50 lbs is a great deal of weight in 7 weeksBravo!

I love Florida and lots of, us Illinoians, go there regularly for vaca. My hubby and I usually fly into Ft Lauderdale and then drive south for an hour. We rent a house there and love lazing around the pool and just soaking up your great sun. My brother has a house in Key West so we also like to drive all the way down there and visit them as well when they are down there.

You are rocking your sleeve!

Best,

Sharon

Ha! Cute idea and one I feel I can participate in. Props to everyone!

Hi, I'm Brenda. I'm 37, married, and have a husband and two boys which are 4 and almost 2. Currently I work full time as a business analyst for a very large healthplan (which typically doesn't cover wls!) I started all this about a year ago looking into wls and researching researching researching as I also have a very challenging BMI. I had picked a surgery, did some couseling, had a sleep study, made it through 5 months of a 6 month process and then life happened.

I am expecting baby number three which I just found out is a girl. So my journey has been on hiatus although I've been faithfully lurking and responding when I had something positive to say or had a link that may help someone out here and there.

Hoping to have the DS sometime in the next year or so - but baby girl comes first and since she may be my last I am not going to jeopardize my ability to nurse her even if it means having surgery a few months earlier. I am big time into being a mommy and being healthy for my crazy family.

So great to read more details about everyone!

Brenda~

Hi Brenda,

What a great story. Congrats on being preggers.

I am still amazed that health plans are still sometimes not paying for WLS. It has gotten better in the past 10 years, but we have some ways to go I guess.

Good for you to nurse your baby. I did not nurse and I wish I had.

So nice to meet you,

Sharon

My Turn!

My name is Brenda too :)
I turned 40 in May, Married 6 years and I have a wonderful 5 year old boy who is my life! Lots of furbabies too :)  I work part time with developmentally disabled adults teaching them basic life skills - cleaning, cooking, shopping, etc ... It has its moments, but overall a very rewarding job!
I have been with OH for awhile... since 09.  I was going to have RNY.. jumped all the loops and just a few days before surgery the hospital told me that they wanted about 25K up front!?! WTH? So, feeling deflated... I started on my own, lost just about 50 lbs then gained it all back and then some :(  I am so glad for my VSG... Somehow I think I am moving incredibly slow, (in comparison to others---I know, I know.. it is my own journey.. all journeys are different)  But happy to lose 33 lbs since surgery.
Oh!  I live in Northeastern Colorado

Hi Brenda,

We are moving at about the same rate. I have lost 33 lbs in about the same time.  I am very happy with my loss. I feel like i am 25 again.

I went thru a lot to get my surgery too. I was denied 3 times over the past 9 years and now I feel like Cinderella now that I am sleeved

We are all so amazing!

Best,

Sharon
