Get a life.

I thank you all for your advice and opinions. I have stepped WAY out of my comfort zone and purchased a ticket for a local singles mixer in a couple of weeks. The great news is that the woman who is arranging it gave me a free ticket to bring a friend. There is someone at work that I occasionally hang out with and I think she will be interested. I'm not expecting to meet the love of my life (although that would be alright) but even if I can walk away with a couple of new aquaintances, that's great. Also, this looks like a monthly thing so it will at least get me out of the house on a monthly basis!

 Check with your local church, the salvation army, the hospital and see if they have any volenteer programs. Even something just one day a week to get you out of the house and meeting new people.
