Funny and Strange NSV- NOT throwing my weight around

Apparently I have to learn how to open heavy doors.  You know those heavy doors in commerical buildings? I keep running into them and struggling to open them. 

At 350+ pounds I would just lean on the door and let my weight open the door.  Apparently, I was never pushing the door (had no idea). Several times in the last few months, I walk up to the door and lean on it and then walk into the door because the door doesn't move. This week, a friend (who is actually lighter and shorter than I am) reached around me to open the door and said, "you have to push it". I thought that I had, but she said, "no you just leaned on it". I keep forgetting to push the freakin doors.  I just lean on it and am completely surprise when it doesn't open because of my weight. For weeks I wondered why I had so many problems with doors.  I thought that I was losing my mind or becoming stupid.

Now that is just a strange NSV... but there you go

 i used to be able to turn sideways and push open those heavy doors with my hips....now, I can't do it!!! I have to either use both arms/hands or turn around and use my butt!!! HAHA - 


Also reminds me that I can't use my hips to carry things - like the laundry basket!!!  Such great NSVs but now I have to figure out how normal skinny people do these things!!

LOL, isnt it wierd the things we used to do just by mass alone.  I used to use just my weight to counter balance when we were reducing shoulders in the ER.  Worked great. Last week on of my docs suggested I was to little to do it and I should let one of the big guys do it.  I just grinned....then did it anyway. :-)    Congrats on the NSV, but remember to push or you will just bounce off the doors!

LOL. So it is not just me!  I have bounced off the door so many times.  I was too confused about why the door didn't open to be embarrassed.  I have even walked off and tried a different door just to see a small person push the first door open and look back at me like I was crazy! I just thought the door was locked.

So here is another thing that I figured out.  I was on the phone when I almost fell over because I couldn't change workout pants without taking off my tennis shoes.  I was annoyed. My friend on the phone said, 'sweetie, you are not supposed to change your pants with your big tennis shoes on.'  Apparently when your pants are huge, you can.

 OMG im dying about this one.....there were sooo many shorts cut I could take when I was bigger that Ican't do now. I feel like I child sometimes discovering my new world :)

Some  thing  funny that happen to me. I  have always been a good swimmer and have always spent alot of time in water. But, I figured out that I can,t float any more after losing so much weight.   I jumped in the water and sank. Fat floats.  So I feel like.   I had to learn to swim again.
