Should be a Interesting weekend

We are going to a graduation party on Dh's side.  I didn't tell any one on Dh side about my surgery.  My side all knew.  I work for a large company those that know me did hear about it.  All are very supportive.  Dh decided not to tell them.  He was very sick last year I almost lost him.  Most of his family didn't bother so he decided not to tell the,  Which was fine by me. I decided not to tell them if they ask.  I will say diet and exercise.


Dh has one cousin who seems to rule the family.  If he is angry with you.  They wont invite you because he may cause a scene.  Right now its my 25yo niece because she is pregnant with her second child by a different man. They had words. My feeling is never judge someone Else's child because you don't know what yours will do.  So now she cant come to the party.  A few years ago he verbally attacked my daughter at a cook out.  We left as not to cause a scene.  The next day I had words with him.  He lied to every one about what I said.  The rest of the family took his side.  Dh and I walked away we were not going to let him treat our family like this.  He is a grown man and acts like 5.
If  they want to let him treat their children that way.  They can I will not.  It took their father dying for them to realize we were telling the truth.  A lot of problems arose and he was the cause.
We put our difference aside went to the funeral.  
Its our God Child who is graduating so Dh and I are going, If the cousin causes any problems we will leave.

 It's good that you can still go to be supportive - hopefully there won't be any issues and you can enjoy the celebrations. 

Turned out to be a very nice day.  It was nice seeing every one.  Some good things came of it.  dh's cousin asked us if we would be willing to let by gones be by gones.  We said we were willing to do that a long time ago.  He admitted to being hard headed.

Great to hear it went so well! Made it even more enjoyable I am sure! It is your business on who you share what with what! It is diet and excersize anyhow especially when we are at some of the bigger weights starting out in our journeys!
