Right back at you "Buddy" glad to find you on here!
I dont know how much ahead or closer I am to my surgery than you are, you are very close behind me I am sure. And also, what I am learning, it is not so much to do with the timing after the initial consult so much, but depends more on the progress you do or do not make in the time you are waiting.
If I am correct you told me that you had not had your consult yet, you have to forgive me but sometimes my memory is really wonky. It is not that I don't listenor pay attention to someone when they are telling me something, it is just that there are alot of times that I am just not retaining stuff that is told to me. Please do not think that the memory issue is because I am not interested either, it is totally the oposit.
Dr.'s Nguyen & Sampath supposedly have the same team of proffesionals working with them, and all their patients have to (with out exception) go through the regime and complete all the requirements that are set out for us. So you could end up even getting through the list of prerequisites before I do, who knows.  (just as a for instance: Aleaha (the girl that sat beside you tonight, she got to see Nooshin in an "orientation" and a one on one consult yesterday I think, and she only had her initial consult just after our first night in the class together.  Anyways, both my daughter and I will not go to an "orientation" until the 29th of May. (I think that happened, because we needed time where she could see the both of us (one after the other) in a one on one and instead of 2 separate appointments, she found it easier to book us for the following month.
Anyways, it is all a part of the process and if for some reason you end up getting there before I do, well I will be right there with you cheering you on with the thoughts that maybe I just needed a little more time.
So thank you for the lovely welcome, this is an awesome forum full of wonderful support as far as I can see as well. I have already learned alot by just reading alot of other peoples stories etc.
If I don't  talk to you sooner, have a wonderful week, and I will see you next week at the presurgery weight loss class.

 no worries!

haven't had my consult yet - I got on the wait list at the end of February, and was told by the receptionist that it would likely be 10 months before I got the consult...unless I luck into a cancellation

I'm really jumping the gun, starting Nooshin's course so early, but I want to do as much as I can in advance...but it'll still probably be a year.

Maybe you will be one of the exceptional people who do so well after all this preparation that you wont need surgery.
I am finding the information very interesting, and explained in a way that it imuch easier to understand and take seriously.
We have been much more avidly reading lables to make better choices that is for sure.
I feel like the time before surgery is now a gift for me to see how I can do with all this new knowledge and I am much more up for the challenge.
I think it is great that you are starting now, I only wish I knew about all the pre op stuff that I could have been doing for the last 2 & 1/2 years. I would be much farther ahead I am very sure! So good on you for taking the bull by the horns and taking charge!
