Easter and gall bladder surgery post mortem +NSV
Well, I go back to work tomorrow. I would say that I was also going back to the gym, but I'm not. My surgery was Monday. I was planning to go back to the gym and walk slowly on the treadmill. My friend told me that she didn't trust me on the treadmill because I miss sweating hard too much. So given the warnings that I received on the VSG forum, I am determined not to pu**** I'll take a stroll around the block like I did Saturday.
I did find that I am finally below pre-op weight. This means that I finally got rid of the extra fluid from the gall bladder surgery. I won't weigh again until Friday or Saturday. I only weighed today to monitor my fluid retention.
Now on to Easter. I'm not an Easter candy person. I don't think anyone in my family is- no little kids around. Now, pound cake is another issue. I got the mac and cheese that I wanted. I had too many carbs today. I'm surprised that I haven't fallen asleep yet (ha- I fell asleep right before I hit submit!). I'll get back on track tomorrow. I have to be more conscientious about my food since my exercise is limited.
3 NSVs.
1. A relative came to town for the holiday. She hasn't seen me in years. She started crying. She is only 4 years older than me. She kept saying "you are so beautiful." It was nice to see her so emotional. It was shocking actually. I said, "are you crying? What's wrong with you!" It was sweet and funny.
2. My hip bones are obvious when I lay on my side. I can see them. I feel them.
3. Except for the excess skin on the inner thigh, I noticed that my whole leg (from below calf to hamstring, to quad) is rock hard solid. I hope to maintain most of that firmness during this down time. Yeah- I touch myself.

I grope myself way toooo much. It's almost a nightly thing, just to make sure my hip bones are still there :-p
Glad to hear you are going to be taking it easy!! It's better than delaying your recovery possibly! I heard mac and cheese is good for recovery :)

ROFL on the grope comment!
I can honestly say that my relationship with food has changed. I have different cravings- like the salad that I was obsessed with this weekend. I look at food very differently, including fried chicken (miracle for a southern black woman whose grandmother made it for breakfast!)...except mac and cheese. I never would have guessed it would be mac and cheese and not cornbread dressing. That is the S#*+! Sorry, I just had a flashback to dinner.
