Gall bladder gone- feeling better

Day of surgery (monday). I refused the narcotics while in recovery. I didn't fill the prescription for Vicodin. I just took a couple of doses of extra strength Tylenol for the incision pain. My experience with prescription pain pills is not good- usually more nausea than pain relief.

Day after surgery. The gas is worse than the VSG surgery.  The stomach muscle pain is mild, and the incision pain is non-existent. I wanted to take a nap, but lying down made the gas pain worse. Apparently it is in my right shoulder and under my diaphragm -exactly where the nurse said it would be. The pain under my diagphram made breathing while lying down more difficult.

Wednesday. Woke up with much less pain. Took a great nap later because lying down is no longer painful.  I think that I will take a walk outside tomorrow and maybe drive the few blocks to the store.

Glad that sucker is gone. Good riddance!

I walked the cuddlesac today. My friend says that it was almost a quarter mile. After a surprise visit, I layed down for a nap even though I didn't feel tired. I know that sleep, exercise, and protein are good for healing. Apparently I was tired because I went to sleep almost immediately and slept for about 45 minutes.
