HUGE realization about my eating plan...xpost from another site
So, several weeks (maybe even a month or two) ago I looked into 'truly' following Atkins for my eating plan. Since following Atkins the weight was coming off better, I felt great, AND I was getting my recommended ammounts of protein in (sometimes even more). I read that Atkins has been one of the few eating plans that help women with PCOS (something that I do have). I was determined to stay on this eating plan and work my way up to additional carbs (from higher carb fruit). Well last week I really wanted an apple. I could have had 'some' of the apple and just kept my overall net carbs down for the day. Then that one apple turned into two apples, which then turned to pineapples and then grapes....etc....etc....etc...
I know these are all 'good' things BUT I am very sensitive to carbs...I know this now....I have always known this but did not think about fruit as well.
So this week I decided to take a break from Atkins and enjoy fruits and get back on Atkins (Phase I Induction) on Sunday. I thought I was doing good and got on the scale every day this week to see my weight slowly creeeping up .2 oz here .6 there...
So when I got on the scale this morning it was a wake up call to me!
If it ain't broke----don't fix it!!!! I was doing well on Atkins for my eating plan, I was struggling with what my surgeon gave me for my eating plan and my nutrionist was so happy that I was gettin in my protein FINALLY (I was really struggling with my eating initially). So today I am starting Atkins again. I now know that I really am sensitive to carbs. That explains why when I would eat mostly fruit I still didn't loose weight (prior to surgery). My body does not know how to process carbs, so whenever I consume them...it automatically stores it and then it doesn't burn the stored carbs either.
I really just wanted to share what I realized about myself today and to write down some where that I am committed to loosing this weight and I knew this would be the best place to do that. I am just 4 pounds away from loosing my first 100 lbs and really wanted that goal before my daughter's birthday on Easter.
Thanks for reading/listenting!

Thank you for sharing!!
LaToya, this is what I say... Everyone has to pay attention to how their bodies react to the different foods. We are all different! What works for one may not work for others!! This is why diets are so diverse. Nutritional needs are a bugger to figure out... But sticking with what works and making your way through curve balls here and there.... You will conquer you goals!!
Your doing fabulous by the way!!
Hugs,
Sherrie
