To be truthful, yes, maintaining is hard. But what is even harder is when you get to that maintaining point, learning to be normal is the real head trip. I struggle with it every day.

I'm so jealous that you can eat bacon- man I miss bacon, it still makes me so sick. :(

I love your point about not beating yourself up, I think that's the best lesson that this surgery taught me. Sure you may eat something off your plan, but in a couple hours you'll get another chance to make the right choice!
