Today was a pretty good day... Had a NSV....
Ok..ok.. So this may be no big deal but just thought I would share this. I have been waiting to try on things until my drainage tubes/jp's are removed. Also after the swelling goes down. By the way my pain is better today than yesterday. I have decided that every day it feels different. I can hardly wait for no pain, no poky stitches, and no swelling. No chance for infection. And to be able to go SWIMMING!!! Ok...ok.... So anyhow...NSV... Today I needed to go to the bank, needed to put some undies on. I have my underwear that I used to wear backwards...to accommodate my hanging belly. Well now I wear them front right ways and they are just huge on me. The tubes and so forth get lost and well I decided to try on my thong undies. When I was hanging belly I would put them on with the hoo hoo part in the back and the strings under my belly. Nobody ever saw the hoo hoo anyhow. So today I put the on the right way.
THEY FIT PERFECTLY GREAT. I LOOKED AT MY HOO HOO AND WAS SO EXCITED AND FELT LIKE A PRETTY PRETTY LADY! Like hey, I will get the opportunity to wear pretty cute undies. Feminine!!
Ok, I know I drug that out... But just telling you what it was to me.

I am glad you are feeling better. I was thinking about you the other day. I caught a TLC show about people having skin removed. It was enlightening. You really do go through a lot. I don't know if I can be so brave when the time comes to go through with it.
Can't wait to hear when you are completely pain free!

Yay for pretty panties! Its amazing how things like that can make us women feel so feminine and sexy. I can wear pretty panties now (some what) but they just arent comfortable and I dont feel very cute in them. Hopefully soon I too will be able to prance around in my pretty panties and feel cute! Its the little things haha. Happy for you! ;)
I never thought to wear undies backwards. I just let my hanging stomach ..hang out lol.

I like to wear cute satin teddies to bed. When I had the tummy, the teddies would only stop at the waist. Now with the belly gone, it just slips right down! An awsome feeling, isn't it?!
BTW....when are you going to have your drains removed? My surgeon left mine in for only a week because of my need to be on blood thinners. You have had yours in for quite a while! (it's gross having to drain the fluid every once in a while!) Once those drains are removed, you should start noticing and feeling great improvement after that.

BTW....when are you going to have your drains removed? My surgeon left mine in for only a week because of my need to be on blood thinners. You have had yours in for quite a while! (it's gross having to drain the fluid every once in a while!) Once those drains are removed, you should start noticing and feeling great improvement after that.

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!

I have an appt on 3-20-12 with my surgeon. I thankfully have never yet had one of them leak or open. Now that I say that I hope it stays that way. He and my aticoagulation clinic has not said there were issues with having them in still. The surgeon as each one has less than 30 cc drainage in a 24 hour period he will remove them. I have 4 of them.... So yes I want so badly to not have to have them. But I also know they are allowing that drainage fluid to have an outlet! Patience is hard sometimes!!
I look forward to feeling more normal...it will take time.
Thankfully about 3:30am I had the best bowel movement since surgery..... I felt like doing a dance... Gave me so much more comfort and feel good!! Weird but night and day difference in how my body feels this morning. I want to just go..go..go!!

Aw Sherrie - what a great post. You are so adorable you deserve to wear tons of pretty things and it all starts with pretty underwear! Love this NSV. It makes me so happy. 
Way to go. And I know what you mean by feeling like you can go go go. After surgery your whole body is off kilter while you recover and being able to have normal BMs makes a person feel human. Love all the great posts and details. Makes me feel up to the challenge when I get there one day.
