 Hi,

I recently joined OH and am looking for others out there like me.  I guess the term is "super obese".  I haven't had surgery but am hoping to do so.  Is there anybody out there who has lost or wanted to lose 200 lbs?  It seems so impossible to me right now but I'm trying to remain hopeful.  I keep telling myself that any weight loss is on the road to a healthier life.  After all, that is what I really want.

Welcome to OH!!

You are in a great place! A lot of us have lost 200 lbs plus or are working on losing that much or more. You can do it. It may take longer than some who have less to lose, but can be done!

Hang in here, join in, and do your research! Know what you want for and then work for it. WLS can be a great tool... But you still will have to work hard at eating and EXCERSIZE. Mentally and physically.

Hugs and again welcome!!

Welcome to the forums!  Everyone is really great and encouraging here.  I just had my surgery 5 weeks ago.  It's my ultimate goal to lose 300 lbs.  At first, I was really discouraged and doubted that I'd be able to lose half of that, but so many people here have done that and more.  I've got a long road ahead of me, but now that I know it's possible, I can travel this road with peace of mind.

Stay encouraged, I know you can do it!

I'm a couple lbs away from losing 200 with maybe 40 more to go or so. It's possible.

There are several of us here that have met or exceeded that mark - it takes hard work, dedication, commitment, faith, and patience.

Don't look at the big picture. Focus on each 5-10 lbs and go from there. I still have a hard time thinking about my goal weight because it seems like such a huge mountain to climb, but I'm making progress. One pound at a time.

Welcome, and post frequently here - it's a wonderful group of people.

Thank you so much for your posts.  It is inspiring to hear from people who have been where I am and have lost the weight.  I know I'm going to give it my all.  I'm ready to do this!

 welcome, fellow Canuck!

yup, I've got about 200 to lose - it does seem unsurmountable, but I know it's not!

this forum is great - OH in general is good, but this board is the best - no surgery wars, no sniping, just support and common sense!

Welcome Jenn. I can't add anything to the wisdom already offered. I started out with about 200 pounds to lose. I can't think about that big number, I have to break it down to smaller numbers. Those are bad enough! I just broke a SEVEN WEEK stall!

I don't know if I'll make it to 160. Right now I'm just focusing on breaking 200.
