Just hanging in here... Blogged...
I did call my doctor's office and will be going in tomorrow. My port #2 is giving me terrible burning pain most of the day with out much relief of changing positions. He said the drainage is small enough that they may be able to remove that one drain. I have a total of 4 jackson prat drain/ports.
I know for me this is hard right now. Pain and discomfort is not the best right now. Been trying to take Tylenol instead of pain meds do to my constipation. But after talking to the doctor I took a pain pill.
Sorry to complain... I know shall pass and will soon be a memory in the wind blowing right on by.
Hugs,
Sherrie

Hi Sherri.
Check your messeges, ok? I wrote you one that is kind of long, but I hope it gives you support. I have heard different things about this surgery. Some say it is nothing.....others say it is one of the most painful surgeries to have done. I have heard that it is also painful to have access skin removed....as if we big people haven't been through enough pain already, right?!
As far as the constipation goes, it is a main side effect with heavy pain killers. But if you really need them, then take them.
I deal with IBS and along with that is constipation. Prune juice may taste nasty, but if you mix equal parts with apple juice, or pear juice, it makes it taste better. Also, just pear juice works too. You can find pear juice in the baby isle in supermarkets. Gerber makes it. What also helps is lots of fluids. Ask your doctor about Colace. This is a stool softner that works pretty well too. Also good is Miralax.
I hope you feel better soon.
