Doesn't it feel awsome! Wait until you put on a dress or long sweater and it just slips down your hips without any effort!

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!

Your are an  Amazing and Brave person.  I had the Gastric-by-pass.  But, I am scared to death of the plastic surgery.  Getting all the skin removed. It seems so much more painful.    I  need to get  my stomach ,breasts, and the skin on my neck too.  Because,  It just hanging about 20 pounds of useless skin on my stomach.  But, I am scared to death. I was wondering how much did they take off.  Were you able to weigh your self after the surgery.  Also how did you weigh after you had the skin removed.  I am 10 month out coming out coming up on a year.   HW:395,  SW: 345, CW 232,

By the why Congradulation on your weight lose.   I understand completely.  I still can,t believe every time I get into my car that seat belt actually fits around me.  I can buckle it.  A year ago it would even fit around me. I was so big.

It really helps when you post about your experience. Right now my belly is so much in the way all the time. I think it is either a low level 4 or already a 5. It is getting about that time to see about getting it removed, even though I have a lot more to lose. I have to 'arrange' it to get in and out of the tub, in the bed, sitting, etc. Can't really wear pants & underwear comfortably. Looks like I'm carrying around a deflated....something...I don't know what.

I have 'flaps' in other places, too...on my sides and over my rear end and of course the thigh batwings. My arms aren't that bad yet--I'm beginning to worry that I may have some lymphadema in my upper arms because I've lost 5-12 inches everywhere else, but not in my upper arms.

I don't even care about any other surgeries--just the panni. Down the road, maybe, but not right now.

Congratulations! I hope you see this, as I have a few questions for you.
Did your insurance pay for your surgery?
If so, how long did it take to get approved?
I am only down 95 pounds but I want to get started. My tummy hangs, itches, gets bumps etc...and it is starting to get difficult to exercise.
I know I could get in some smaller clothes as well if I did not have all this extra hanging.

Thanks for anything you are able and willing to share!

Hello LaToya,

I have Medicare only. I have to pay a portion of it. A couple grand. As far as the approval for them to cover it. It was actually very fast. 2-14-12 saw the surgeon and then surgery on 3-02-12. Because of the grade 5 hang and the balance issues and back issues I was approved very quick.

I hear you in wanting to have it out of the way. Clothes and excersize will be way better. I am not sure the severity of your belly hang. Having gone through this and if I could have waited long I would have maybe in hind sight. Just because the pain and so forth at least right now is making me really think about any further plastic surgery. Hoping that the memory will pass. I have some bleeding issues to so for me I have to really weigh the pros and cons. The time was right for this to happen so that I can continue to move on with more weight loss.

Hugs and best wishes. Hope that this has helped in your questions. Everyone's experience will be different. This is just a bit of my thoughts and experience.
