I was just thinking, "hmm...why am I not losing weight?" Then I realized...I'm eating fruit... when I was losing weight- I didn't eat any fruit.

Guess I'm going to have to choose. Fruit or Fat? UGGGG! It's the only sweet thing I eat, DAGNABIT!

Sorry, I'm just a little whiny today, PMS'ing... ;P

Okay rant over- I hope you all have a great week!!

Fruit is a hidden source of sugar. It's good for you but the calories definitely add up. I usually have 2-3 servings a week.

Do you have your body fat % tested? With all your activity, maybe it's decreasing even though the scale isn't moving?

How many calories do you usually eat per day? I guess if you really wanted to drop a little weight, you could go hard core but it'll definitely impact you. I've thought about doing RMR/BMR testing to get a good idea of what my body needs but I'm waitin to get closer to goal.

Regardless - you look super fit and fabulous :)

Yeah I need to cut fruit waaaay back, le sigh...right now I have 1-2 servings a day!

I have had my BF% tested and nope, it's staying the same. :(

I've thought about getting my RMR tested, but I worry that with our new guts, it won't be accurate anyway. As far as daily cal, it really depends on the day, and the activity that I'm doing, but I don't want to cut calories as it could negatively impact my training for the Death Ride. I don't want to lose any muscle.

Maybe I'll just wait until it's over this summer and then spend the rest of summer and fall really working on leaning out....

Either way, I know I have to cut down on the fruit! LOL! And thanks for the compliment- that helps!!!

The Death Ride definitely should take priority! You need all the muscle you can get and if you focus on that, maybe after the right, your metabolism will be a little higher and the weight will start coming off.

Have you seen this ride?  I'm thinking of doing the one way option but you should come down and do it ;) I did a portion of it yesterday and it was nice.

Good point!

That looks like a beautiful ride, but that Sunday is the Chico Wildflower, which is a really fun century that I'm doing, and my wife is going to do the 30miler.

I would love to come down and do another century with you though! I'm thinking about doing this one:

I could do that century. Are you going to be up for it a week after the death ride though?

I wish I could do ALC but since I can't I am going to do a century on 6/10 to celebrate my surgiversary and birthday - both on 6/10.

Oh no, the DR isn't unil 7/14, but it is soon after ALC.

Well if you change your mind, Day 4 (6/10) is usually a century day, so you could kill two birds...just sayin!

;)

I eat fruit.  I drink about 6 ounces of oj per day since the surgery and eat about 1 (maybe a little less) serving of fruit on most days. It keeps the sweet cravings away. I don't eat fruit, then I want cookies and candy. The relationship has been studied.  Regular consumption of fruit reduces cravings for simple sugar sweets. However, if it doesn't work that way for you, then dump them. It works for me and has for years. I let a trainer convince me to give them up completely and the next thing you know I was trolling the store for slices of cake and cookies.  I started eating candy bars.

Do what you got to do.

I'm glad you found what works for you!

I don't eat sugar, or wheat, so I'm not worried about going down that road, but I just don't want to give it up completely...maybe I'll just dial it down a bit.

Thanks for the advice
:D

Do you eat nuts at all? I found these "chocolate" almonds by emerald and they have the same nutrution facts as the roasted ones, just less sodium and 1 more carb and they have a fine layer of cocoa powder on them and they really satisfy my sweets craving. Protein, pretty low carb, has a lot of fat but "good" fat... It works for me...
