do you get frustrated?
Frustration with the smaller at times. But also feel great that they may not have to go what some of have. As long as they use their tool right. I know what we do all share is the struggles with our weight.
It is hard to read sometimes when persons start their journey at less than where I am at. But also I think about how much excitement they are having. Makes me want to work that much harder to get to my goal.
The length of time it will take me to get to the maintenance part of my journey seems like forever. But it will be a great Victory for me when I get there!
Hoop by hoop... Some people just seem to have a better insurance or whatever... Good that OH has the forums that they do to sort of try to meet all different needs!!
Hang in here... We can do this!!
Hugs,
Sherrie

I think you've seen from all the responses, that you are not alone. It is so frustrating that others took control before they got to be SMO, I wish I had done this sooner!
I however, hope that everyone has to jump through hoops and get extensive education because without that knowledge- you could gain all the weight back, and people do. I am so thankful that my insurance doesn't just hand out the surgery like candy, but takes the time to make sure people have long term success.
Doesn't mean that I don't want to tear my hair out in jealousy at folks starting near my goal weight, but I let that pass, as I remember that we are all on our own journey's and I'm so happy to be healthy again.
Hang in there!

I sometimes think this way as well but I have talked to my mom who weights the same as me right now. She feels at 235 pounds how I felt at 360 pounds. I wish I had felt that way at 235 then it wouldnt be as much of a struggle as it has been for me but it just goes to show you that just because they are smaller doesnt mean they dont literally feel the pain.
This topic turned into a heated arguement at my job a few days ago. I tend to feel that way at times but now I keep my mouth shut. I WISH I only had 50 lbs to loose. And I tend to giv people a "are you serious" type look. My surgeon has seminars after our support groups and when I see people come in that are at the size I am trying to get to, I just shake my head. My husband will drag me out if I get ready to ask them if they are considering surgery.....
It is just one of those things...
It is kind of like when I use to go to Weigh****chers and some of the people got to thier goal after loosing thier first 10%...WHAT THE HECK????
So believe me---you are not alone

I usually try to avoid the topics by lightweights too. -the goal in 6 months = I can't relate.
I don't find myself frustrated as much as I just don't relate to them.
OK, one frustration. When some lightweight gets on some larger person's happy post and becomes a debbie downer because they are not losing as fast as someone over 100 pounds heavier. Someone did that to me and was all 'boo-hoo, poor me' right in the middle of my happy, congratulations thread.
One thing I try to keep in mind though is that some of them are seriously short. 220 at 4'11" is not the same as me (5'9") being 220. Also, some have some serious co-morbidities.
