I want to CHEW (Rant)

This liquid diet is starting to make me crazy!

I had to do a "relaxed" liquid diet for 2 weeks before my surgery.  Now I have a full liquid diet for two weeks after the surgery.  The shakes/soups in and of themselves don't bother me... it's the fact that my diet is 100% lquid!  I miss chewing so much!  It's gotten so bad, that I'm counting the minutes to when I'll take my next vitamin.

Don't get me started on my family.  I knew that they'd eat around me, and I was fine... until my sister (who could eat 12 cows and NEVER gain an ounce) brought home a HUGE sandwich from my favorite sandwich place ever and started to chow down.  Meanwhile, I'm sipping on chicken broth.  Grr!!

Can't wait for the purred stage!!  I already have my meals planned out for those two weeks.

Don't worry, I won't go crazy and eat everything in the fridge.  I'll get over this.  I just wanted to vent.

End Rant.

Hang in there --- this is the toughest time.

Wasn't a problem for me but could you chew some shaved ice (sno cone ice) or even a sugar free popsicle. I usually end up biting those anyway.

You know, I'm single and live alone but I can't imagine, particularly family, not being sensitive to a loved one trying to make a positive in their life. I know everyone doesn't have to change to accomodate us but I just think it's rude on their part.  Sorry you have to go through that.

Stay tough.

I second what Elaine said. Sugar free popsicles really helped me during that stage because I could bite and chew them. I also "chewed" jello lol. It won't be much longer and it's so worth it. Hang in there.
