HI
Hi and Welcome!
I didn't see the show so I don't know how much excess skin she had but I do know you won't have as much as she did because your not as heavy. Since I'm still at the early stages of my journey that's not an issue for me right now. And since you've just had surgery I wouldn't advise you to let the images of excess bother you just yet.

I didn't see the show. That said, i can tell you I started this at 400+ pounds. This is the 5th time (and last time) I've lost 100+ pounds. I've done allot of damage over the years.
I'm almost 60, relatively active now but not previously, yo-yood like crazy-----and I have lots of hanging skin. In fact, my surgeon says that i will probably carry around 25-30 pound of excess on my frame. It's not pretty! And while I will eventually see a PS to confirm what my surgeon says and to get some prices---I don't see PS in my future unless I can find some way for insurance to cover. Spanx and sleeves are in my future!
But I did this for my health---not for looks. And that's really the truth. The improved body shape is a plus---even with the skin.
Now that I've probably freaked you out more---not everyone is the same. Your age, weight loss history, GENETICS, skin type, etc. all play the most important role. Then there is always plastics, if you can find the way!
Edited to add---A Sugar Daddy could pay for the plastics, if I could find one. If anyone knows someone with $$$$ to spend???

in the low 300s i highly doubt you will have difficulty walking from skin issues. Don't worry. Insurance is going to pay for your tummy tuck. Thighs and arms are going to be on you. They may pay for breasts... You weight half what she did. Start googling plastic surgeons and see their before and afters. It kind of freaked me out but at least I got to see what I will look like after. I've lost about 50 pounds and I'm already seeing that skin is going to be an issue. It bothers me extra because I recently became single and I'm worried about dating with skin :(
Yes what hwag5149 said. LOL
If you wind up with a pannus and it depends on your shape - and you are a stage three or higher insurance typically covers your tummy tuck as it's considered reconstructive.
Similarly with your breasts, you may wind up getting those covered as well because again it's considered reconstructive.
Brenda aka Seattle Maui wrote a lovely blog post in the last month about a tummy tuck (pannulectomy) as she is getting one done soon. Her blogs are typically on the front splash page. Similar click on her current blog and read her last month to six weeks of posts and you'll find it.
Good luck on your journey.

I started at 420, and im down to 233. I have a lot of loose saggy skin but nothing that interferes with my ability to walk...just annoying.
If I get brave, I'll take some pics of my skin on my stomach, arms and legs so people can see - i exercise a lot but doesnt help much.

I agree with the above posters, excess skin is going to happen, but not anywhere near the degree if you were DOUBLE your size!
I started out at 390 and I have excess skin, but most days it doesn't bother me. It certainly doesn't keep me from walking or doing any exercise! I run, swim, bike, whatever with little issue. Running is probably the most difficult with the floppy-ness, but tight lyrca does wonders!
Excess skin for us heavyweights is an inevitability, but let me tell you- it's waaaaaaaaay better than being Super Morbidly Obese!

I did not see a photo of you on the post, I'll check your profile. I am in the process of starting plastics -- it really has more to do with your shape (apple, pear, hourglass), how your flesh is distributed, and like earlier pointed out - what class (1 - 5) you are when determining reconstuctive surgery.
My official starting weight (actually was probably up to 500) was 474, I stand 5' 7", and carry most my weight at the waist & below. I have a photo of my before in a swimsuit - and a current in swimsuit, and will post after panniculectomy when it happens (Mar 29). I am ONLY 14 months out, lost 165 -- so I am no where near DONE losing...
Don't freak out -- how old are you? This is a factor in how your skin "snaps back". I'll pop over to your profile, so if you get a PM, it's just me checking in on you!
