So why can't I excercise?
Cause I am lazy. I find that I don't even want to think about excercise. Ugh. I need someone to kick me in the head or be a buddy and come out with me and walk or something. It is tough at home, I never see the hubby anymore since he started a night job. After I get home from work, do homework with the little one, bathtime and bedtime, I find I don't have any time for me. I can't leave the house to go excercise because no one is home with the child. Ugh, help!

How little is the little one? Can you take her in a stroller? Are there any Mommy and Me classes nearby that you can take? Or a gym with a daycare?

What about dance or exercise videos? Im assuming your child is school age? They can do the videos with you and you both benefit! You can always go for a walk too with kids.
It sounds like you have a lot on your plate and I totally get that. Exercise is something that takes a strong
Commitment to making it work and making the time.

Hello,
Those are some great ideas said above. Sounds like you do not like to excersize, saying you are lazy. I think that you want to or at least are aware that you need to excersize.... A buddy is a great idea, but you need to do this and get going for you cause buddy might not continue and then what?
Make it fun. Time is your budget... You will decide how you spend it.
Having your child involved in this could be healthy for the both of you. Maybe just start with 10 minutes a day 3 days per week. Increase weekly the number of minutes. This way it will be easier to get started. Add a longer distance of walking to get where your going. Dance while you clean. You can dance with your little one. Make games out of it. While your watching tv or doing something, find a way to add more movement into it. Be creative! Think outside the box!
We all find time to what we want to. Maybe add homework for the both of you and your little one... They can be your teacher and get them involved in " grading you" or teaching you... Just find ways to make it FUN. We usually look forward to something if we like it or better yet love it.
Hugs,
Sherrie

Not lazy....how can you be lazy with work, a household to run, kid's homework, bath and bedtime routines?!
Maybe just not motivated right now to exercise. But I think you will be when you see the added benefits of just a little time everyday.
My suggestions---I'd get your child involved....have him/her teach you (so to speak) to jump rope or use a hula hoop. Can be done in the house or garage and is inexpensive. There's always the Wii (I think it's called-never used one). Or there are lots of exercise choices in On Demand on cable to see what you enjoy.

I am 3mths post op and just started exercising 2 wks ago. Nothing was stopping me before except motivation. I'm taking a Zumba class 3x a week and 1 day of weight lifting at the gym. My weight loss has been disgustingly slow (in my eyes) so i'm hoping the increased activity will help. I also plan to purchase Zumba for xbox Kinnect for days when I can't get out, so that I can do it with my 3yr old twins.
Get the Zumba for one of the game systems, if you don't have a game system then get a video. That way you can 'dance' with your little while getting in some exercise. I was/am having a similar problem.
