Hey Elaine - how is the protein shake (the lean shake - are those the GNC ones?)

B: coffee, egg whites, turkey sausage
S: beef jerkey
L: 2 oz chx breast stuffed with spinach/cheese
S: cottage cheese, two bites of some pastry thing, more coffee
D: 2 turkey meatballs, 1/2 cup cooked spinach
S: two egg white muffins

This was my attempt at low carb which went fine until the pastry entered my mouth, but im totally proud of myself control to only have a couple bites.

These shakes are Lean Body by Labrada----you can get them at most GNCs---but i order online from the Vitamin Shoppe. Better price and free shipping.

It's 17 oz---260 cals, 40 protein and either 8 or 9 carbs depending on the flavor. I think it tastes like melted ice cream but you know how subjective that is! A little high on the calories but I'll take it for the 40 protein---plus it's always breakfast and am snack.

I think you're very low carb---except for the pastry do dad.

I got this from a healthy eating website who said it is a modifed receipe from an old Susanne Summors cookbook.  Anyway, here it is:

Cream Cheese Pancakes  (makes 4  6in pancakes)

2 oz cream cheese
2 eggs
1 packet sweetner
1/2 t. cinnamon (optional)

Put all ingredients in a blender or magic bullet.  Blend until smooth.  Let rest for 2 minutes so the bubbles can settle.  Pour 1/4 of the batter into a hot pan sprayed with Pam.  Cook 2 min until golden, flip and cook 1 minute on the other side.  Repeat w/rest of batter.  Serve with SF syrup.

--------
This was the first time I made them.  I thought it was pretty good.  Though I will probably just make this once in a while, not very often.    I used Joseph's SF syrup I bought through Diet Direct.  This is the best syrup I have found.  For 1/4 cup is only 35 calorie, and 9 carbs.  It is kindof expensive, but what diet food isn't, huh?    Next time I think I will try it with SF jam.
