This week of dehydration...

So basically I feel like crapola, it started Sunday with extreme DHR and I have had a hell of a week trying to recover. I ate 2 ounces roughly on Wednesday and had about 20 ounces that all promptly came up. Could hardly eat or drink, so I decided it was time to go for fluids since I had dry heaves, smells making me crazy.. so drinking became impossible without having it come back up. I spent 3 hours in the ER waiting room finally got 2 bags of fluid but the blood test said I was barely dehydrated. Although after those 2 bags it took me 2 more hours to urinate. After the ER visit all I got down was a G2 but the damn thing has sucralose in it so I played hell all day,(Im allergic) but it did make me feel better last evening. Today I have had about 60 ounces of fluid and 4 bites of food. Trying a variety of drinks, watered down apple juice, water, crystal light etc. even a flat diet coke. In the past when I got fluids I felt so much better but I just feel run down. I am taking my nexium and I got in about ½ vites. Could they be wrong… could I be dehydrated? It just doesn’t feel like the last time I went through this. I am almost 5 months out and I have lost 145 lbs. I feel like they put a bandaid on the problem and I needed more fluids.

Well, it sounds like your feeling a little better. I hope you continue to improve. Listen to your body it well tell you what it needs.

You poor thing---how are your iron levels?

Did they scope you for stricture? 

I hope you are feeling better today and able to get your fluids in!

SO 4 days in the hospital, i have an ulcer in my small intestine.  finally got scoped and got to eat for the first time in a week.  4 banana bags, 8 bags of fluid later I am home.  Came home with a picc line just in case. follow up in a few weeks.

Hoping to get some rest and go to work on Monday.
