4.5 Months Down
Good News and urg news!
I am not 4.5 months down and Ive lost quite a bit of weight.
143 lbs down, taking all my vitamins and drinking shakes but the last month I have had a heck of a time eating. I almost feel like Ive gone backwards. I eat small amounts but I am never hungry. I set a timer to remind me to eat this month. Ive had more bad days than good the last month and overall I am just exhausted.
I was swimming and doing zumba but since xmas I just have not had the energy.
Luckily I was able to see my PCP today and I had my newest labs there we were able to tweek. I also am going to try and up my protein and see if my energy level comes back, I just feel like crap.
Ive lost a lot of hair, but I knew that going in and had a few big hormone dumps the last few weeks.
The really good news is my lymphedema is so much more manageable and I am able to get around better and for that I am truely grateful.
I know this will get better but did any other person go thru this exhaustion and if so what did you do about it?
Thanks.
JJ

Wow 143 lbs! You are moving right along. I hope things get better for you, soon.

JJ,
We all get exhausted, it is our body's way of telling us something isn't quite right. I am sitting, in the dark, too pooped to turn on the lamp, and knowing I have other chores to do here at home. I swam three miles, and almost wussied out & took the elevator up, but decided that I made a deal with myself, and climbed the four flights up.
Lucky for my body, I have heated seats in my truck. Turned those on, while I drove to Costco. I grabbed a cart to actually support me, I feel pooped! I walked the perimeter, as it is added exercise. Got the couple items I needed, and then dreamed about the stupid snack bar. Wake up, dummy! Useless calories! Upon walking to the FAR END of the lot (yes, I push my limits) I actually did not walk my cart back - but did grab a Low Sodium V8 for my drive home.
I'm still tired, so don't fret, we all get tired physically, and usually for a good reason.
Did your doc suggest any special tweaks? Maybe start slowly, and build, so you aren't pushing yourself to exhaustion?

Great work!!! So, if you are a little tired, it may be time to add more protein, a few complex carbs, and take it a little easier.

I am on Vitalady's starter plan for the DS and so far I am upping
Thanks it has been almost a culture shock. I lost a sophomore! LOL

Potassium, Iron, Calcium, Vit D, Vit A, Zinc, Vit B1, Folate,
My B 12 was pretty good and some of the above are on the lower end but not dangerous. My Potassium is really low, and I have not taken a direutic for my lymphedema since September. I take potassium, but I need to be adding it to what I eat too. Banana vanilla protein shakes are in order! Thanks it has been almost a culture shock. I lost a sophomore! LOL

NIIIIICE! 143lbs down! That's pretty awesome! Hope the fat keeps melting off ya JJ!
Remember that you are eating so little, but still carrying around excess weight. That's going to tire you out big time. My energy didn't start coming bac****il I was eating around the 1000+ calorie level, so hang in there, it will return. And upping protein and vits will certainly hasten that- so good for you!
Hope these next few months have more good days than bad!

CONGRADULATIONS on your loss of one hundred and forty three pounds!! 1 4 3 !!! You are doing fabulous!!
For me, if I do not get enough calories and healthy carb I get tired and worn out. It is good you had your labs and can tweak as needed! It is great to hear that you are trying to figure your body reactions out!! You are "listening" to your body!!
Hang in there!!
Hugs,
Sherrie

Wow I just checked out your ticker!! WOW amazing loss for you too!
It is hard to celebrate when you don't feel good but today I am happy for the loss! I know I deserve it. After all those years of WW where I would lose 1 pound a week and stayed on program for 16 weeks with 4 pounds lost 4 pounds gain, repeat. Beating myself up all the while feeling guilty for doing nothing wrong.
Every time I see a commercial I want to shoot my TV.
LOL
Thanks for your kind words!
