Do you have a swimsuit that is too big?

Hey Folks!  In my quest to swim my weight off, I had a great idea: collect useable swimwear & distribute it among those who want to start swimming!

I haven't figured out how I can pull this off, but I will try to figure out how to pay the postage for swimwear to me, then anyone wanting a certain size or suit will have to pay the shipping to them.

If you have suits you are happy to part with & give another person the opportunity to swim, please contact me!

GREAT idea!  I don't have a suit though, used to but I shrunk out of it and now there is just too much skin to even try to stuff into one.  Lol.  I swim happily in my capri pants and a tank top  (in the woods)  Bigger sz suits are CRAZY expensive....I hope this works out for you and fellow swim-eees!  :)

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

This one is to all the other folks with a saggy belly...

Since I have a terrible pannus, I was dreading when it lost its thickness/solidness, but I found a way to wear a swimsuit without spilling out the legs:  I wear a swim brief BACKWARDS, one size smaller then my outer one piece swimsuit!  It holds me in, and feels great not feeling my belly swaying & floating while I swim laps.

The briefs can be ordered as a separate, or even at many retail stores (I paid ten bucks) -- or even a black pantie girdle would work -- or a color that works with your present suit.

Anyhow, that is how I deal with my pannus.

I need to find a suit because i want to join the YMCA and begin water aerobics and swimming. I bought one on sale for $10 but it is still too small and I refuse to fork out $70-80 bucks for a suit that will be too big before I get my money's worth. I've been looking at local thrift stores but no luck in finding one in my size. I might just order a pair of swim shorts if they'll let me wear those. Good idea though about the backwards swim bottoms or control top panties. Might have to try that.

 Hey Tammy,
You didn't say what size you want/need. I haven't received donated suits yet, but if I already have something that will work, I'm happy to get a suit or even separates (I went the separates route to get my sizing to work).
My hope is to get this rolling along to help folks get into the water! And I agree, some swimwear prizes are obnoxious!
One clothing company that has extended and way cute swimwear for $40 is sanctuaries, net as well as LONG shirts (love this company!). Hope this helps someone, I have a stretched out halter suit of there's, the before photo of me on Makena Beach on Maui...

I'm really not sure what size. I bought a 22/24 and it's too small. Maybe a 26/28 or 30/32? I guess it depends on the suit and how it's made, whether it runs big or is stretched out. I can tell you that I am still wearing "stretchy" pants and jeans and all of my 26/28's are baggy. I can wear 22/24 in the stretchy pants and some of them are getting a little loose. I am bigger on the bottom  (yet not a true pear) moreso because of my big belly and now hanging panus, ugh. So bottom line, I have no idea...lol Thanks so much for offering though.
