regain.  big time.  seems as though each day i try and each day i give in to the foods.  i've regained 100 pounds and don't even know when.  most of it during my bout with depression last year.  and still more of it after numerous surgeries and back issues.
but i NEED to start the losing process again.
it's been almost seven years since my lap rny but i know the pouch is still in good working order.  now i need to find the fervor with which i lost 200 lbs the first time.
my biggest issue seems to be evenings.  the plan is to keep my hands busy so i'm not eating after supper.  wish me luck.

Evenings tend to be hard for me just because im usually sitting around - and bored. Those are bad combinations.

I plan my exercise time for the evenings before dinner. It helps curb my appetite actually (probably bc im drinking a lot of water). It keeps me out of the house. It motivates me to kind of keep focused with my eating and when I get home and feel like snacking, I just remember I dont want to waste the time in the gym by eating junk.

When Im feeling "snacky" or like i just want to eat, eat, eat, I will usually split my dinner into 2 parts - maybe around 6:00 or so I might eat my veggies (usually a 1/4 to 1/2 cup) and then around 7:00, I will eat my dense protein/meat dish.

After dinner, I drink A LOT of water and chew gum. It helps keep me from wanting to eat.

My late night snack lately tends to be 100 cal pack almonds. I like them because they are crunchy, and pre-measured. If you gave me a big pack of almonds, id probably eat the whole thing.

You can do this. You know how to lose weight because you did an excellent job losing 200, and a great job keeping off 100.

last night wasn't too bad for snacking, but again, tonite, i'm lacking control.
but i like your ideas about exercising before evening meal.  and the one about the premeasured almond packets.  both are great ideas which i intend to try.
and thaks for the support as well.

I'm fighting the regain like hell....Every day is a struggle, we can do this!!!!!  Keep the body moving moving moving, as much as you can.  Every little thing we do builds momentum and makes it easier. I stopped bringing "bad" foods into my house.l  I was testing my limits.  not cool.  I know better, we all do.  Stock up your fridge with lowfat protein and hop back on the wagon, you can do it!  Don't give in.  We worked too hard

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

I'm still early out, but evenings are difficult for me too.  I usually end up going to bed early, just to keep myself from raiding the refrigerator.  I do like evening walks if the weather is nice.  That helped before surgery too.  All the situations and food that got us to high BMIs are still there.  Some days are more of a challenge than others, and depression hurts big time, because I know if it hits me I am more likely to seek solace in food.  Getting on OH and talking about it, or finding a girlfriend I trust with my soul, really helps during these times. All we can do is take it one moment at a time, which turns into a day, then two, then a week....you can make it through one moment dorothe. Take it moment to moment, and tell yourself, I can make it through this moment.  There is no shame in needing help. **Hugs**

i think i'm getting a little better with evenings.  but it would be better still if i could get myself to exercise.  i went to the grocery store and by the time i got back i was hurting too badly to do anything but sit.  and i even used the riding cart at the store.  :-(
but you're right about the one moment at a time.  i'm still working on that, too.
thanks skylark.  have a great weekend.
