11 Days Post-Op and Swelling
I didn't have this, but almost 2 weeks out I am surprised that you're still swollen. Did you have lymphadema before this? I hope otherwise things are going well and you're sip sip sipping!

I had swollen feet, ankles and legs pre-surgery and some post. I always wore compression socks.
Now that I have lost weight and walk a lot I hardly wear them now.
Does the swelling interfere with your walking. My Doc wanted me to walk three miles a day a week after surgery. This could be a spiral, where the swelling interferes with your walking which would help reduce the swelling. If this is the case you may want to get more assertive with your doc. I am not a medical person, but short term a mild diuretic and compression socks could help. In my case the compression sock were paid for by my insurance because of medical necessity
Hope you are doing well otherwise. You are going to be amazed how well you will feel eventually as the weight comes off.
Best of luck

I've never had lymphodema, but I have had occassional swelling before my period. I did go to my family physician and was told that this was more than like caused by medication. I was on Norvasc and BenicarHct for blood pressure and it was so low in hospital that they put me just on half of the Norvasc (which may cause swelling). She says being taken off the diuretic would cause it, but it will go down. Made some switches in my meds, so keeping fingers crossed. I am walking. Feels real tight but I know I have to so I do. I may throw my mother's old compression stocking on for a couple days and see what happens. Thanks guys!
It took me about four months before my feet stopped swelling. It was hard because my surgeon took me off of my lisix. But, I still had to take them P.R.N. Just keep my legs down.
some people just have it worst than other. Just drink lots of water and watch out if you do have to take fluid pill to swelling down so you do not constipated.
