I have lymphedema and I know that it something I will have to manage along with my weight but will my legs lose weight along with the rest of my body? My surgery is scheduled for Dec 5th and this is just something I was thinking about.

I do not have lymphedema, but I did start with larger legs just ten months ago.  I lose more top to bottom -- start at the top, then slowly lose in the lower half.

It takes work, but your doctors will work along side you!  There is also surgeons who will come in further through the proccess, I am seeing reconstructive surgeons to remove my pannus & inner thighs.  I am not near goal weight, but they have determined my excess skin has to go!

Stay positive, every pound gets you closer to a body you can easily maneuver!

I had tried therapy for my lymphedema but my pulmonogist told me to stop because he didn't want to overwhelm my lungs and heart...I just want my legs to look somewhat normal so I can wear some capris...

I have lymphedema and I go to therapy and I have the flexitouch pump.  I had the DS but I am earlyout so far so good.  It took me 2 therapists and 15 doctors to get what I needed for Lymphedema and now take 2 direutics.  Good uck to you!

Thanks JJ...I take 60 mg of lasix twice a day...I swear it seems that I'm in the bathroom every 15 minutes and surprisingly enough that is the only medication that I take well other than the vitamins...

Since my surgery 3 weeks ago.  I had the duodendal switch.  My legs were only swollen in the hospital now they are downright skinny.  The mass I have in my right thigh is still there but it is drastically reduced.  I went back to work part time this week and I still did not have swelling in my ankles.  It was amazing and very strange.

My toes- I wish I had a before pic of my feet.  It is just amazing.

Good luck.
