What Can YOU Do, That You Couldn't Before Surgery?
Go 6 weeks without a single piece of candy, piece of pizza or a single trip through a drive through :)
Might be the first 6 week period in my whole life. It's almost like a challenge now to myself to see how long I can go without the things I swore Id never live without :-p
I can also agree to go exercise/walk with friends, and not worry about whether I'll be dragging behind - I can easily walk several miles and keep up with - for several days in a row. It used to be one 3 mile walk every two weeks - a two week recovery period!!

I have a few things that I'm proud of now..I can cross my legs (cried the first time I was able to do it), climb a flight of stairs without breathing heavy and I can hit the dance floor and go a few songs without being tired. Those are milestones that seem very small to some, but are HUGE to me, and I'm happier for it.
The list is so long it is impossible to think of them all. But highlights include:
Scuba diving (learning to and then doing it as often as I can manage)
Swiming with whalesharks (jumping out and climbing into boats)
Flying on a 12 seater airplane (wasn't willing to before)
Walking for hours upon hours without a second thought
Running short distances
And the biggest of all:
Feel pleasantly full and satisfied at the end of a meal. (Before, I never ever had the feeling of fullness/contentment.)

Great topic Brenda!!!
I can:
cross my legs
drive without my stomach hitting the steering wheel
walk without gasping for air or having to stop
fit comforably in an airplane seat
shop in the normal stores .
I still haven't tried but look forward to :
riding a rollar-coaster
swimming (I have a fear of myself in a bathing suit)
jumping out of a plane
I'm sure there are many more but this is a start

I can wear sandals with ankle straps and can lean over to fasten them, then I can work a 12 hour shift and not think I'm going to die. I can release the parking brake on my truck without opening the door and leaning out sideways. I'm very excited to lean over and pick something up from the ground while sitting in a camping chair ( before I had stand up and lean over). I no longer panic when walking through tight public places because I'm affraid of getting stuck. And so many more.
