There's More????
I love reading about all the amazing things people are doing after WLS!!!
However, I totally forgot to do this here... this just passed June, in less than 2yrs out from surgery, I rode my bike from San Francisco to L.A.!!!!!! In ONE week!!!
I did it! I rode my bike 545 miles in 7 days. It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. I rode every single inch of the route and though I was so tired afterward, I felt more alive than ever.
Two years ago I could barely roll over in bed, and now I've achieved something that I am so grateful for. So much so, that I've signed up to do it again next year!!!
Quick Rundown:
Day 1... 83 miles
Day 2....107 miles
Day 3....67 miles
Day 4....98miles
Day 5.... 40miles
Day 6....88miles
Day 7, 63miles
If you like bike riding at all- you can do this. I trained hard for 6months and I was so ready for the ride. Can't wait to start training again!!
I also have some pics posted on my page! AIDS/Lifecycle is a powerful experience, and ...you could too.

I'd love to try this someday, but I have no idea if I've ruined my knees. X-rays are negative for any arthritis so I guess there's hope, but everytime I get on the bike now, my knees don't cooperate for more than 15 minutes.
This was an awesome accomplishment- I can't even imagine the strength, endurance, and courage to undertake such a journey! Very inspiring.

I wonder is your bike fitted to you properly? It doesn't sound like it is, cuz it shouldn't hurt when you ride. That's why they have knee surgery patients get on bikes.
Your best option is your local bike shop. They are usually filled with folks who have a passion for riding and can help adjust your bike to fit your body.
Your second choice is Googling "Home bike fit" or something, but only if you have someone who's handy and can help you. It's kinda hard on your own, but not impossible.
Good Luck and keep riding!

My biggest bike rides of my past were the Oakland/Berkeley Hills, getting a ride across the Antioch Bridge & riding the levies of SR 160 (The River Route). I want to try the Seattle to Portland ride at least once in my life -- I have a few friends who have done that one.
Danni, that is some accomplishment!!! I love your comment about the only exercise you got was "walking ti the fridge"!!!
Someone wrote me that they were only able to swim one lap, I told her, "Mark the day on your calendar, so you can look back & see how far you have come." It took me a LONG time to get where I can swim over two miles a day, I sort of wish I started my blog back when all I could do was 500 meters.
Danni, I am going to post for EVERYONE'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS, let's all share where we are now. Thanks for sharing!!!
Brenda :)~
