6 years post op (in 1 month) .......with pics
And WAAAAAAY under goal (almost 60 lbs under the goal I was sure I would never see). Not sure I like being this thin (6' and about 140 lbs). I am definitely not as comfortable as I was, but roller coasters, go karts, horseback riding, flying, etc., are no longer a concern, so I can't complain. :) I have actually lost another 20 lbs since "after" photos below.
BMI 53 to 18.9, just 4 lbs from being "underweight." Never thought that day would come until I had been dead about 3 years. ;)
Good luck to all. It can be done! I mean it when I say that if I can do it, anyone can. I have ALWAYS been unwilling to deprive myself of anything. I eat what I want and don't exercise. Follow the program, and you will be very succesful.

You have done awesome, congrats to you. You've given me renewed faith. I started out where you were and 2 year out and still about 30-40 pound to my ultimate goal. Its hard cause i keep thinking my body with stop losing and i'm still not at goal so that scares me like crazy. Wish me luck, i love vet stories like yours, TOO AWESOME:)
im curious to know if u were a fast or slow loser.. i have lost like 300 lbs give or take since sept. 08' surgery was feb. 09 docs been on my case alot this summer cuz im still losing weight rapidly at times like 20+ lbs in less then 2 weeks.. im still over 200 lbs so i dont understand why docs are so concerned bout my loss still...
I lost about 130 lbs in first 9 months, then I lost slow, or not at all or gained, and then started losing again at 5 years out. My doctor thinks I am fine, but said I could stand to gain 40 lbs or now. His only suggestion is ice cream lol.

Congratulations! Your pictures are a real inspiration to me who needs to lose 150 lbs. I'm just starting on my journey but after seeing the dramatic results everone has had, I am becoming impatient! I want it to happen NOW!
Hmmm let's try this again...lol. I posted but I don't know where it went? I am 5 yrs out, had RNY in 2006. I started out at nearly 300lbs and my lowest weight was 160. YOU LOOK GREAT!! I've never been that skinny even at my lowest. Since my hubby came back from deployment I've gained about 30 lbs and I can't seem to shake it. I've got my ol friend protein back in my life so we'll see. I find that if I don't exercise daily, follow the program to the letter I gain, gain, gain!! I swear I think fat just seeks me out!
For me it's a CONSTANT daily struggle and very frustrating. I'm not sorry I had the surgery but I am ashamed of myself for letting the weight creep back on.
