return to super obese bmi

i'm almost sorry i checked.  with my 100 lb weight regain i'm back in the super obese category.  what caused the regain?  several surgeries and a severe bout with depression.  but now that i'm thinking i may want to continue living it's time to take stock.  go back to the basics.  and start again.  my physical self is going to hurt.  the fibromyalgia kicks in when i exercise.  the fuzed ankle throbs if i walk.  the back never stops hurting.  and the rotator cuff repairs chime in when i lift weights.  so i'll work with my physical therapist to find out what i CAN do.  and with my bari surgeon to address the regained weight.
that's it for now.  check in with you again.  SOON.

im so sorry about ur depression and medical problems.. the weight can come off again.. u have the tool and the knowledge to use it... as far as excrcise.. its warm weather time for a good swimm or walk n pool u can do it. even if u need to start a pain med  to ease the pain.. do what it takes u deserve to be the best u that u can be.. good luck.. starting over is hard.. go big.. liquid diet for a few days then add little by little new things again.. everything in moderation. is the biggest lesson i learned... an my "tiny tummy" only lets me eat soooo much.. so it keeps me in line.. an reminds me when to stop.. but i have to stop myself from going bk for 2nds 3rds 4ths  after food settles an makes room..

I am sorry for your pain, both mental and physical.  I hope your surgeon has answers for you.  Only you know if you have been eating incorrectly. If a revision is in order, please research all your options.  I wish you all good things.  Loris

My Dear,

WE all care about you, here!  I know pain, maybe more or less than you are feeling, but I know it.  The one thing that I have found that helps is my swimming.  Even if all you can do is float around in a warm pool, try it!  The buoyancy is what relieves the stress on my body, and it is the one exercise I can do five days a week, without cringing.

Hang in there.  Have you sat down with your doc?  Are you keeping a  food jornal?  Maybe you need to just "check in" with a support group -- even if it is just on here.

It is NEVER easy to face weight coming back, but you were able to lose it before, you can do it again!

Hugs!!!

thanks, ladies.  i honestly appreciate the feedback.  and ideas.  i'm gonna have to dig deeper, i guess.  my bari dr, back dr., and heart specialist have told me there's nothing more they can do.  but i will check on the swimming, and work on the exercise and weight.  and keep coming back here, cuz i appreciate the friendliness and support.  you strong, strong women are wonderful.
thanks again

Sorry for your pains and tribulations dear.  I re-gained 80 pounds myself and have re-lost over half of that now.  I don't have the same physical challenges as you have but if you are determined you will find a way.  Success is never giving up!

Hello Friend of Mine,

Don't be beating up on yourself, you know I'm sitting right there with you on the regain bench.  It just basically sinks you, doesn't it?  Feels like a slippery slope one can't get off of.  But you're right ... there's alot of living still to be done.  It took a lot of courage to come back to this forum and admit regain, and if I hadn't seen your post, I wouldn't be saying a word ... I was just going to "lurk" and see what info I might pick up to help myself.  But there you were, and if you've got the courage, I can too.   I'm back looking for the help, trying to figure a way to get back to where I was so proud of myself to have been.  First thing I've got to do is find a new bari since mine 'went south" on me ... next you and I have to figure out how to move injured bodies and exercise.  I'm in if you are ... wanna be my WLS twin buddy again?  - myra

Anyone in Southeast Missouri seeing a bari somewhere close?  I need suggestions for a good one - my doctor left, and I need to start over with another.

happy july 4th, girl.
i would LOVE to be your twin buddy again.  seems as though i blinked and the pounds were back on.  now i know it didn't happen that quickly, but i must have been up to some massive denial in order to allow this to happen.
good luck with your bari search.  it's not a pleasant, but a totally necessary step.  but in the meantime, don't beat yourself up hun.  my bari told me that even with my weight gain, since i've still lost 100 lbs, he considers me a success.  there's something so powerful about that word.
i wrote it on my hand so i could remind myself often - i'm a success.  :-)
hope you have a truly wonderful july fourth.  it was pure pleasure hearing from you.  i'll talk to you again.  soon.

Sorry for all the troubles. I have also regained weight, about 60lbs, but I never got below 250. I want to lose about 150 lbs so I'm going to start the 5 Day Pouch Test, then make some appointments to make sure my stomach is okay.

We can do this together!
