I saw my surgeon today!!  I went in ready for my date and the type of surgery I wanted to have.  I left with the hospital sending my ins. to have a VSG approved?!?!  When I called the Ins. and got the exceptions from them about Bariatric surgery my options were RNY, which I decided on, and LapBand.  But my surgeon seems to think my ins. will cover VSG, and it would be much better surgery for me with my age and my high bmi!!  I'm excited for that. But either way it comes out my surgery is June10th, 3 weeks away!!
I meet with my NUT on thursday and friday I'll get stocked up for my 10 day liquid diet.
I was suppose to go home the first 2 weeks of June to visit family and friends. That is not going to happen for a few more months now, so I do feel a little bummed about that.  But this is MY time and I need to get MYSELF on track.

I'm ready for this 100%!!!

3 weeks!! I can hardly believe it!

My surgery in 5 days.  I been waiting threes years and went through two  6 month diets twice.   Losing and regaining the whole time.  Because, The doctor used Electontric records and the records got destoryed and could not be reprinted.   With Medicae everything has to be written by hand.  My medical doctor left his Practice with another doctor on bad terms and The other doctor  would not let him have acess to the old records.. they just got destoryed.   So to say I got shrewed.  So I had to repeat the diet for Medicare again.

Then I finally had to change surgeons because. I could not lose the Eighty pounds my surgeon wanted.   I had lost fourty pounds and that was not good enough for him and down to 340 from 390.  I felt ashamed everytime i would go see him because, i had never lost enough.  Leaving him  was the best thing ever could have done changing Surgeon.   He treated me awful.  You  should not feel worst after leaving your doctors .  no person on earth should make you feel that way.
The people on this wed site gave me  the courage.  I know that people who were way heavier  than me were getting the surgery without a problem.  But , My Surgeon just kept putting me off.  Telling to come back every three months til I lose the whole eighty pounds.  I thought what if I never lose the whole eighty pounds .  If put me into such a depression. Because, i been doing that my whole life living on a diet.
I wanted to kill myself again.
People told on this wedsite .  That sometimes it is more than just get your B.M.I. low.  Sometimes   doctors don,t the equipment to operate on really heavy people or they are afraid Medicare will not pay.   So they force you to lose alot of weight  and make you wait.  While others  only have  to lose thirdy pounds before surgery.  All I can say when went to see my new surgeon.  He schedule me for surgery right away.  Because , All the paper work had allready been done.  And I had lost 40 pounds.

So I finally have surgery in five days.  The Liquid diet is no fun. But, to think another two weeks of Liquid diet after surgery.  Just I  just hope can eat without getting thing stuck in my pouch and making it sore.  A friend of mine said, That baby food the two month is a great way to go.  It is healthy, organic and soft.  It gives you stomach a chance to heal.

Good luck to you all!!! The liquid diet is not as bad as you think (after day 3 when you're used to not chewing) You drop a lot of weight and feel really good while doing it... Its hard I can't lie, but at that point you are so ready for the surgery that it wont matter!!!

Dealing with insurance is always a crazy thing - but it will all work out!

Hey Erica -

FABULOUS!!  It isn't as hard as you may think, just take it one day at a time.  Hang in there, and all will be well with the world!
