Amusement Parks

Okay, my work is planning a trip to Sea World.  It has been so long since I have ridden a roller coaster and I am freaked out.  I love roller coasters and would love to ride them, but I am worried I will stand in line and still not fit in the seat...which would be awful.  I am wearing a size 28 in pants and weigh about 325.   Has anyone been to an amusement park lately and know if I will fit or not?  I know it depends a lot on your build which has me really worried because I carry a lot of my weight in my stomach:/  Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on this subject....

I have been to Disney World weighing 420 and fit into all rides, and I wear a 34 -36 pants.  But Disney rides do allow Pooh size people.  They also have some of the ride seats outside the ride for you to see if you fit.  I know that I can not ride the rides at Universal, they are small.  I have no idea about Sea World.  But you might call or research online about the sizes of their rides there.   I hope you have a good time.  Have Fun!

Whether you will fit or not is going to depend on how you carry your weight.  I would suggest you contact their client services department.  They can provide you with information on which rides have bigger seats.  Have a great time at Sea World!

When I went to Disney Land around 300 lbs wearing a size 24, I fit into about half the rides. I got kicked out or seriously bruised on the other half.

It's such a nightmare, I've been to embarassed to even think about another amusement park.

I also think you should call the park.  The park I went to had older rides and I didn't fit into those. (also carry most my weight in my stomach) If I was able to squeeze in the belt or the bar that came down was VERY tight or didn't lock at all.

I was about the same size when I went to SeaWorld. I fit in the Journey to Atlantis ride, skyride and WildArtic. Didn't try the other ones since I don't like the fast roller coasters. There is so much other stuff to do that I wouldn't worry about it. :)  Good luck!

I carry alot of weight in my stomach.  I went to a brand spankin' new 6 Flags at 230 1 year out.  I am about 6' tall and there were several rides I could not fit on.  Even worse, some had tester seats, and I fit in those, but was asked to leave the ride one one. :(  Pretty humiliating and a good way to burst my bubble.  Some list specific measurements or sizes (i.e., women over size 18 won't fit, chests bigger that=n 44", etc.).  Roller coasters were my motivation for surgery!  I have now been to practically every one east of the Mississippi from Maine to Georgia.  Good luck!

Also, some of the big oasters have a row of seats that are a little bigger.  When they see a larger person in line, they will direct them to those seats, which do give a little extra room.

I haven't went to an amusement park in years, but I just had to say that I feel your pain and worry!  I lived in fear that I wouldn't be able to fit in the seats at an amusement park and on airplanes.  While I can't tell you what size I was when I last went to an amusement park, I would call ahead and try to plan on which rides you can do.  Enjoy whatever you can ride, and ride the heck out of those rides!  :)  It can still be alot of fun.  :D

Very timely question. I am supposed to go to Disneyland next month with my family. I am around 235 now and size 18. (Only 5'4" though). I am hoping it won't be a problem. At least walking around the park will be more fun than it would have been a year ago.
