Disappointed in my motivation
So, I've lost my exercise motivation. I haven't exercised except once since October. I'm ashmed. I eat righ****ch everything that goes in. I track everything I eat at least 5 days a week. I avg between 1100-1300 cals per day, 90-100 protein and looking on calorie counting websites I see I can have up to 1600 a day and still lose 2 pounds per week.
I'm 11 months out, I started at 397, 367 at surgery. I know I need to exercise, but with the amount of cals I'm taking in right now is it really necessary? I mean I know health wise, it is...but to lose weight is it with the amount of cals I'm eating?
I stopped exercising in a stall in Oct and when I stopped exercising I lost more weight. Now, I really am struggling with the weight loss and I still have 60 pounds to goal.
I really could use some good sound advice and motivation to get back to the exercise (which I positively, absolutely HATE).
I'm afraid to up my cals...do you think that could be one of the problems besides exercise?
Suggestions...help???

Simple math. Keep a food journal (lots online - many APPS for your phone), and be honest. I got called on my food, as I wasn't measuring - so I went back to a small plate (a saucer!!!), and got my head back into the game.
Even just walking is great exercise! I make it a point to park far from any store - LOVE Costco like sized stores - and walk the entire store - just for the exercise.
Hope you can get your head & body back intot he game!!! Stay positive!

Hi Brenda,
Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I'm very honest about my food, I log everything. Maybe a day here or there I won't log but I'm not a big cheater. I measure and weigh everything unless I'm out to eat but always protein first, low carbs, low fat, low sugar.
I'm at a point now that I don't know what is causing my scale not to move. I guess I'm just going to have to eat a big helping of shut up and do it and go exercise. I just hate it. But if I want to see that scale move I will have to do it.
I am worried about the cals...eating too much, not enough? I went to lose it.com or one of those cal counting sites and it said I could eat like 1600 a day and lose 2 pounds per week. I never eat that much. Maybe I'm not eating enough and I worry if I start working out again it will take more cals out of my daily equation.
Guess all I can do is try and see what happens. Thanks for the advice again. So nice to get the support given on here.

K you've got to find something that you love to do, or well at least don't HATE! LOL!
Exercise must be part of your life to not only lose those last 60 or so lbs, but to keep them off. It's much harder once the honeymoon is over! But if you can make fun athletic pursuits part of your daily activity you'll have the healthy life that you dreamed of.
I tried a bunch of things before I found my new love....cycling! And my former fat lady legs help me go fast and hard...so much so, my new nickname among my cycle buds is "The Animal"!
You can do this, just keep trying new things...and you might surprise yourself!
Oh and the more you exercise the more ya gotta up your cals...sorry... but you need to fuel your body or else it will hold on to everything!!

I,m pretty have been the same weight as you. My heaviest was between 390- 395. I lose lost down to 380 when start seeing my doctor about surgery. He told to lose eighty pounds. I gotten down to 340 down. Have been down to 335 pounds. The problem when I don,t exercise.. I gain water weight. I can gain 10 to 15 pounds of water weight over night. I hated having to explain to my doctors what happen. Why I gained my weight back. If I exercise the water weight stays off and Don,t have worry about ankles wanting to swell I hate going to the gym. I hate paying fifty dollars for monthly membership. Small town fees. When You take a two weeks off just to be Lazy and take a break after losing twenty five pounds.and I paying for it. I,m back up 350 and my ankles are swollen again and I am paying the price. May 25 is my surgery date. Have to see the doctor next week. I need to get back t0 335 pounds and get all this weight off again. Before I see him.
Face it. Exercise is hard work. Instead of going to the gym everyday," Especially with gas prices being what they are .I had to cut back on driving.
I started just doing 10 minutes of exercise on my exercise bike at different times of the day. Instead of a whole hour at one time. 10 minutes when you wake up. Ten minutes during lunch. Ten minutes while watch television. 10 minutes before cooking supper. Then a 10 minutes before bed. Adds up to fifty minutes of exercise. It is better to exercise fast for 10 minutes at diffent times than exercise lowly for an hours on end.
You just to find out what works for you.
