Ok- so I am a little over 6 mos out from surgery. I have lost pretty well up until now. I only had one real stall and might be starting one now as well.... my question is for all of you who are a little further out.... what do you consider the "honeymoon period'? I know weight loss will slow down, but how much and when? What can i look forward to over the next 6 months???
Thanks in advance for your help.

For me the first 8 months were losing, losing, losing.  I got over 100 pounds off.  The next 3-4 months, it slowed weigh (way) down.  I only have 120 of the 160-170 pounds off that I wanted to lose to get to my surgeon's goal.  I'm a year and a half out.

Having said that, please note that everyone's experience is different.  My tool (small pouch) still works and I can only eat a certain amount of food at a meal, especially protein.  I work to get in enough protein.  My lack of weight loss has to do with snacking and carbs and not exercising.

Good luck - take advantage of the lack of hunger when you can and how quickly you fill up!  Focus on protein and enjoy the new wardrobe, etc.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

Due to light exercise order - I haven't gotten to my Honeymoon Period, yet!

I am almost released to full exercise (I am 2 1/2 months out), so I am ready to start pushing the body & mind, and dumping weight through hard labor!

My opinion when you hit a stall, I usually ramp up my exercise.  Fuel plus combustion equals motion - in human terms - food plus exercise equals a positive plan for living.

Honeymoon period is different for everyone and what you make of it.  The average is 12 to 18 months.  Exercising will make your honeymoon period last longer that is for sure.  But it is when you can eat more or gain your 1st pound or 2.  I so recommend you make the most of this period too.  Congrats on your success so far!

Molly is sooo right!!! It's different for everyone, but I doubt that you are already over your honeymoon stage. JUST MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY DAY NOW!!! Don't play around...do everything you can to get the most out of your tool NOW! Bless you!
