In search of a surgeon-HIGH BMI!!
I am searching for a surgeon that will actually do surgery on me with a BMI of 73...I weigh 430 now, lost about 50 pounds last summer but gained some back over the holidays. Every surgeon I have talked with tells me they will not do surgery until I get to 60 BMI....just soo frustrated and tired and just ready to get this all over with. Feel very much like I have been swept under the rug by my clinic because I have such a high BMI it feels like they don't know what to do with me.
If anyone has any advice on finding a surgeon that accepts medicare and higher BMI in the St Louis area please please get back to me. I would be willing to travel some. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Chrissy

My Bmi is 67 and my surgeon is Dr. Mitchell Roslin in New York. He has 2 offices. His main office is at Lenox Hospital in NYC and the other which is a much smaller hospital and suburban area is Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY.
The phone # for Mt Kisco is 914-242-8350. If you google him you will find alot of information. You might also find names on the site if you click "find bariatric surgeon " on the top right hand in green.Good luck!!!

I agree with the last poster...check the find a surgeon part of the site. My BMI was over 90 when I had my surgery. Don't take no for an answer...just keep looking! I found my surgeon on here. Check their stats to see if they have operated on super morbidly obese patients and then start making phone calls. Good luck!
