Pray for me.... back problems again...

As many of you know I have had a little set back and was unable to walk again last Saturday.. I was put on very strong pain meds and steroids in the ER and as of today I have moved up to a cane from the walker I began to walk with on Monday.. I am having a spinal stimulator put in to try to block some of this pain.. please all pray for me.. this pain has to go away..

I am not able to exercise and I am so scared of regaining the weight I have lost.. I have been gaining and loosing as much as 10lbs for the last 3 months.. that is so scary in itself.. but I am not letting this get out of hand..

if you want more details as to what happened I have added a blog to my profile..

I want to thank all of you who have been praying for me.. I was not able to get on here to post but my daughter posted on facebook and many of you knew about it from there.. so once again thank you..

I am asking all my OH friends now to please pray for me..

they will insert a test stimulator in the spinal canal on Feb 7th.. and with my spine not in alignment it will be tricky.. I think I would just want to curl up and die if they damage the spinal cord where I am in a wheelchair forever.. I know I will weight 300lbs again and wont have a long life.. I am really scared. but I have to get this done.. I cant stay in this pain..

Pray it works.. if it does, they will implant a permanent one and block the signals to the brain for the pain.. yippee.. I sure pray it works..

love you all
Teresa

I have prayed for you in the Name of Jesus by His Blood that you will not regain the weight.  That your procedure on February 7th will be successful.  You will be able to do everything that you used to do and will be able to do way beyond what you imagined you can do.  You will be pain free.  You will have peace within with no fear in your heart, but comfort from the Holy Ghost.

In Jesus Christ Precious Name,

Anita

Anita.. thank you so very much for such a gracious prayer.. I do believe in the healing powers of God and I really appreciate the prayers so much..
I too am praying the procedure will be successful on the 7th.. I will wear that temporary one for a week as a trial to make sure it is going to work.. I am praying that I have a week of minimal pain and they will decide to implant the permanent one.. and that it will be as soon as possible.. Chronic pain is so hard to deal with.. My faith that it will be over soon and that God is guiding us in this direction is what is keeping me going.. and Friends like you here on OH are such great support and in times like this it really helps to know others are pulling for you and praying for the results I need..
I have been reading the bible looking for passage for comfort in this and I found a few great ones that have been comforting.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe it, and it will be yours..
Proverbs 4:10-12  Hear my son and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many. I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths when you walk, your steps shall not be hindered, and when you run you will not stumble..
Psalms 56:3  When I am afraid, I will trust in you..

I have written so many down in a daily journal and rereading them everyday helps me to hang on.. Faith is very powerful and with Jesus as our mediator I know that God is hearing my prayers and those from others that are going up for me..

Once again .. thank you so much
and God bless you..

God Bless you too Teresa.  You are my angel by writing those scriptures.  I will be taking them with me when I fly out tomorrow for VSG surgery.

I will continue to pray for your safe recovery,

Please let me know how you are doing after the surgery is over..

Dammit, Teresa, so sorry to read about the pain. I sure do hope that the professionals use some cutting-edge technology to break through your pain. I've only suffered from temporary back pains, and they were excruciating; I cannot fathom chronic back pain. Just be mindful and you will not regain; your sizeable weight loss is to be commended and it's not going away!

Sending you the most positive vibes from S FL; let us know how you're doing. You're a special person who needs to be around a very long time, living the life you want to live.

Linda

Thank you for the postive vibes.. a positive attitude is what I need to hang onto instead of the negative ones that try to take over..

Chronic pain can really wear on you.. many days I would love to just veg and stay in bed but I push to get up and move and try to live as much a normal life as possible.. and even though I cant even walk for exercise I keep moving even with a walker or cane..

Only those who have suffered with back pain can truly undersatnd the impact it has on you.. when your back hurts you whole body hurts and it is so hard to function..

I so appreciate your reply to my post and I will try to keep everyone up to date on what is happening..

I am praying that the 7th will bring relief and that the implant will help me get back to exercise and help to maintain what I have lost.. right now it is such a struggle.. I am trying the 5 day pouch test to see if that might help too to keep me on track..

Hi Teresa

Haven't seen you for a while but have been able to look but not always able to get on when I get home (too late)

My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Get the strength from the Word and God will guide you through this time.  My mother has always had chronic pain and still does despite having her right leg amputated in May of 2009 but you will draw strength from places you didn't know you had.

You will NOT get back up to 300 pounds again.  My mother had stapling in 1984 and despite being in a wheelchair for the last 4 years, she still has maintained most of the 80 pounds she lost back then.  She was 240 pounds at that time and 5 feet tall.

I hope this implant works.  You are inspiring to us and teach all of us about fortitude.

You hang in there and big hugs to you and prayers.

Sylvia
