How'd we do over Christmas?

Hey guys!! Merry merry Christmas!! We've had a beautiful Christmas day here in the south....it started snowing at around 8:30, and now the ground is white!! How long has it been since we've seen a White Christmas here?!

Anywho....I've done pretty well so far. I weigh on Mondays (officially...although I keep tabs daily) and so Monday the 20th I'd lost 2 pounds (down to 190#). I'm calling that the 'week before Christmas' based on my weigh-in schedule. This week, (which will officially end for me Monday the 27th) is so far, a wash. Still 190, but I have 2 more mornings to go so I'm not counting myself out yet!

My wonderful pouch has done an excellent job of notifying me when it has gotten comfortably filled and I'm working hard to eat slowly enough so that I can hear the signal and I can stop before that last bite slides down and overfills it. I have eaten way more white carbs than I usually do. A spoonful of mac-n-cheese, half a homemade sourdough roll, a tablespoon full creamed corn. So, that may rise up and bite me. But my intolerance of processed sugars has served me well and all I have had in the desert line is the pumpkin pie I made myself with splenda.

So, so far, so good. I'm working it, and remembering...slow and steady wins the race! Merry Christmas everyone!!!! connie

You sound great!  I held my own, for the most part.  Eating some sweets and not paying attention enough to protien.  But today is a new day.  I'm a work in progress!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

oops....well....those carbs did catch up with me.  I weighed yesterday and had gained 4 pounds.  Now I know in my head this is fluid (drawn and held by all the carbs I ate...and probably also helped by the ham I ate for nearly every meal for 3 consecutive days....).  I also know from experience that this fluid will be off by the end of the week; nevertheless, I hate to backtrack.   But, backtrack I have.

You know what?  It isn't the end of the world.  It doesn't mean I will never loose another pound.  It also doesn't mean my weight loss battle is over.  It just means I have to get back on my horse and ride it like I know how!

So, no bread today.  The rest of the left over mac-n-cheese is now in the trash.  The pumpkin pie made with splenda (but cooked in a regular crust - which I love) is now gone.  I've already had my microwaved egg with 2% american cheese melted on it for breakfast and I brought my lunch to work: left over turkey and a nice salad (I froze the turkey after thanksgiving in individual servings and it's worked beautifully for me when I'm on the go!)  I have my 1% milk for midmorning and afternoon snacks.  I'm back in the saddle again.

How did you guys do??!!  I hear Mary did well and I'm so proud of you for that Mary!  You'll be my inspiration this week!

Hugs everyone!!!  connie

I lost about a pound this week.  I'm so thankful for the one pound.   I've definitely had more carbs and sugars than normal.

This turtle is back on the path.   Slow and steady.

Have a wonderful New Year everyone.

Kinda sucky.  I've traveled for Christmas and am off work this week ... and am learning that I need a structure for vacations/holidays.  Also caught a nasty cold.  I'm just getting back on the horse, so to speak, on the 3rd, when life goes back to normal.
