Wow it has been six years since I had WLS!!  10/26/2004 I had weight loss surgery and it changed my life forever.  It flew by so quickly and what a journey it has been.   I have managed to keep off over 200 pounds and I will lose another 140 pounds within the next 2 years.

This year since March I have lost 33 of 80 pounds gained over the last 3 years.  I am so proud of this accomplishment.  It has not been easy and has taken great effort to persevere.  This will be the 1st year in 3 years that I have not gained weight.  Whoohooo!!

I love taking this time to reflect because at times I get discouraged because I wanted that number to be higher.  But on days like today I see that 33 pounds down is SO much better than gaining.

This is just one of the very best gifts I could have given ME.

Thanks again for support this year as I continue my journey to get healthier and make permanent lifestyle changes.

Have a great day!

Molly,

We are with you. What you have accomplished is amazing. I remember when you came back on the boards looking for help. It was right after I started my journey. I can't imagine what your ride has been like, but I admire your determination and hard work. Keep going,  you can do this. I just started, but I have 140 more to lose as well and we can do it together.

Molly - you are just plain AMAZING!  I look up to you and know that I can use and re-use my tool whenever I put my mind to it.

I have lost much slower in recent months, and I'm only a year out.  We are close in weight - I'm about 15-20 pounds higher than you - and it is SO much better than I was a year ago!  Now ... I need to continue to make it happen, too.  Back to basics.

You show me that it can be done.  A whole new life awaits us.  I know that the NUMBER (wt.) is not nearly as important as our health and good feelings.  Nothing can surpass that.  And, my 6- year WLS friend, we have got IT going on!!!!   Let's make this year a good one and continue along the path of health.

Thanks for the inspiration.

I read your post with great interest.  I am 3 years out this month and have been dealing with issues of anger and depression.  The "honeymoon phase" is definitely over and I had the mental thought that I was "fixed", but now suddenly it seems like I am hungry all the time and I can eat more than I wish I could. I am having carb cravings and battling with an added 10 lbs. I wouldn't mind staying the same (I lost 150 lbs) and worry that 10 lbs could easily turn into 20 etc. I realize once a food addict, ALWAYS a food addict, but I am trying to recapture the enthusiasm for weight loss that has waned. I am not eating junk, just too much of what is healthy. I need the motivation back and to turn the  pity party into ongoing successes.  I will monitor this site and hopefully gain inspiration from others who are 3 years plus out.  Thanks everyone.
