I'm back! Missed you all

No, I wasn't kidnapped.

The short version: My mom went into the hospital in late August with breathing issues and came home as a hospice patient. She passed peacefully on Oct. 2. www.janeiva.com/mom/

I'm just now getting some normalcy back into my life. I'm sad, but dealing with it. I'm 41 and we lived under the same roof for 35 of those years. I'm going to start going to some grief counseling sessions.

The chocolate-Cheez Its truck backed itself up to my door when all the fam was gathered. The fam left middle of last week and the crap is in the process of being pitched. Garbage day is Thursday.

Needless to say, I did not lose any weight. (Well, there was the day I got super dehydrated and the scale said 236. But I'm not counting that because I had to drink almost a gallon of water to get back to normal. If my nurse sister hadn't been here, I probably would've been headed to the ER and missed Mom's services.)

I missed you guys, but I don't like to drop bombs where you all come and give me big hugs and I'm not here to thank you for them.

Thanks.

Patti

Patti - what a lovely obituary!  Your mom must've been quite a gal!  THAT'S where you get it...

You were missed, but I've been missing, too.  Mostly going through some busy times, but so good to see your post and know you'll keep on doing this.  She is probably so proud of you, wish my mom could've seen me at least begin this journey.  She worried about me - - and drove me nuts - about my weight!

Take really good care of yourself and remember protein is our friend!   All the best in your healing time to come.

I missed you. I had assumed that you may have been going through exactly what you were going through. I had been praying for you and your family and will continue to do so. Grief counseling is probably a good idea. I wish peace for you. ~Chakara
