so much to lose

I am so happy for this thread because boy oh boy to I feel the same way.

I'm 75 lbs down in 2.5 months and I've just started to get some of the first comments from people who didn't know.  Interestingly, all of them have focused on how much thinner my face is - rather than the rest of me - despite going from a size 34 to 28 in such a short period of time.  I think like one poster said, they don't really see me.  I suppose my face is all they have been able to manage these past years.

I am keeping myself motivated (eyes on the prize) by setting goals in smaller chunks.  If I really focused on the 200 more lbs I need to lose to get to a normal BMI I think i would go crazy.  Right now I'm trying to get to 100 lbs lost by the end of the year.  After that I'll set the next goal.

Like the hare... I have a slow but steady road ahead.  Sounds to me like you are doing great, too.

I can definitely relate to this as I have lots to lose myself.  I've lost a good amount and not too many people notice yet.  But you know I notice in all the small things like my belly doesn't touch the car steering wheel and overlap it any more.

I'm so thankful I was able to have surgery to help me because I just wasn't making it on my own.  I'd rather have more to lose or lose slowly than not have had access to this tool at all.
