I could barely wait to get home, out of my work out clothes to take a shower and come post this!!!!!

I begrudgingly went to the gym this morning...didn't wanna go...wanted to put it off till later. but william said come or i'm going without you and you can go later by yourself...that's like telling a little kid they dont have to come...and then they jump in the car lol ok so since i didn't wanna go by myself i got into my clothes and off we went.

so there i was...listening to my ipod, grateful that i had added new music lol i decided to do a forest walk program on the treadmill to keep it interesting. well...it started going faster...and faster...and faster!!! Much to my surprise i didn't pause it or change the speed....i started RUNNING!!!!!! OMG....i think i scared myself LOL but i kept it up...30 minutes into my workout...i ran at 3.5mph for about 6 minutes. lol ok...i'm no forrest gump yet...but tomorrow i'm gonna try for 10 minutes of running after walking and see how long i can go. after i got off i went to the cycling machine and kept on working out. i was totally amazed!!!! at 597lb NONE of this was possible!

And I would just like to say as i was running on here to post..i stopped and saw Peggy's post for her plastics, Michelle's 9 month post op pics...Molly's continued commitment to being back on track, Michelle's kyaking experience...inkspeced's jumbee jumping....FOLKS........WE ARE DOING A FABULOUS JOB!!! I'm excited about my nsv's and totally inspired by all of you!!!!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!   WTG Tabby, that is so awesome!

You should look into doing a Couch to 5K program... if you can do it for six mintues straight, you can most definately work up the stamina for a C25K!!!

I too am very inspired by this message board - so many amazing folks out there living their lives, making their health a prioritiy, and changing the role food has in their lives.  Sometimes I wish we had more traffic and I think the newer OH message board layout has reduced our traffic, but I so like that it's drama free and everyone is so encouraging, no matter if one opts for surgery and/or what kind of surgery they have.

Great job girlie.. im so proud an inspired by u... i cant wait till i feel well enough to go for a run.. might take me another yr or so tho... i need my knees replaced  an i want to get my arms n thighs  done... i know that once i get the things i want an need done... i will be able to move around so much better... i cant wait... only reason i got the tummy done so soon was because i knew it would help my mobility and save me from severe infections next summer....  even tho i might want to do it again later on in life for looks... right now im just so happy to have that extra skin off my body it was making my back hurt so much.. from the gravity pulling on it alone..  im truly at not doing anything for looks alone... its all about doing whats best for my health an mobility...  maybe looks will matter to me further down the road.. but for now... i just want to be the person i hid from the world my entire life...... fitting on rides b4 plastics.... was a lil tight but i fit on everyone... i cant wait till next summmer.... i cant even imagine the freedom i will have..... an walkin over 8 miles in a weekend will be nothing.... might be able to run a few...
i love u all an u keep me inspired daily.. especially u  tabby... u an i have had a simular journey... an it will only keep getting better!! xoxox

That is awesome!  I have been considering taking up running, though I am not sure if I am at a size yet where it is advisable.  A woman in our post op support group did the couch to 5k program, and is now doing triatholons!  She is very inspirational.  I cannot believe I can walk 2 miles, so running may be a little ways off, but it is awesome to be able to do these things we never thought we would ever do again!  Great job!

50 lbs lost pre-op-the rest is post op.

You are just plain wonderful!   Isn't it great you took the opportunity to motivate yourself and it paid off!   I couldn't think of running, but I'm walking more than I ever did before.  It's a new world out there!!!

Good for you and for William for encouraging you.  A good team effort!

Woo Hoo! That's wonderful- doesn't it feel amazing!! WTG GURL!!!!!!

I've been doing the couch to 5K on and off for like a year now! I really want to be able to run a 30min 5K so I've been building it up. Currently I can do it in 42 min so I've got to shave quite a few minutes, but I'll get there. I wanna do triatholons too!

You're right, this board is so inspirational- I love that here we have folks who can understand what it's like to be thrilled to sit in a chair with arms! I'm so thankful for all of you and the help that you've given me.

Speaking of inspiration, I'm going to sign up to do the AIDS lifecycle next June. That's 7 days and 545 miles of bike riding!!! It's gonna take a lot of work, but now that I have my life back....I can do anything!

Thanks for posting Tabby and everyone else who writes about NSV's they keep me motivated!!!!!
