I think it's time for another NSV share-a-thon....

So, what's been your favorite (or favorites!) Non-Scale Victory?

For me, it's two... one I am playing water polo again and two I've lost 22 inches in my waist!

and you............

I started the year with 4 goals:

Ride a bike
Roller skate
Kayak
Horseback ride

I've rode my bike several times, have gone roller skating, will be kayaking tomorrow night, and likely horseback riding later in September.  I love knowing that I WILL achieve my New Year's resolutions this year!

Excellente!

Oh horseback riding was one of mine too! I went on my birthday and loved every minute of it (however we went for 3hrs and afterward my butt didn't love me back!)

How was roller skating? I think I'll jump off another bridge before I do that!

Roller skating was a blast!  Did you do it much as a kid?  For me it was being able to enjoy an activity that I used to love sooooooo much.  Going on a Saturday afternoon from 2-4 happened a lot during my elementary and middle school years.  I was wobbly to start with, but caught on pretty quickly.  Similar to never forgetting how to ride a bike!  Didn't even fall once.

Ow, 3 hrs on a saddle when you don't usually ride?  My butt hurts just reading that! LOL

Yeah I did roller skate as a kid, but even after riding a bike a dozen times in recent weeks...I'm still wobbly!! I haven't fallen either though- yeah us!!!

Yeah I don't know why we signed up for 3hrs...I think I was a bit overzealous...we also did a 3hr kayak tour up in Washington and that about killed me too! I live life a little too passionately sometimes :D

Last night, decided to go for a walk. Mind you, I have done zero exercise since surgery, not that I didn't need to, I just didn't. Anyway, set out with my son and we walked for 40 minutes, and it was no big deal, we stopped to visit with my Mom and then walked another 10 minutes back to the car!
Before surgery, walking more than 50 feet at a time required a real decision!

WOW you've lost all that weight with no exercise...that's amazing! I bet the walk felt good though, right?

It's amazing to think about how far we go in such a short amount of time!

My favorite is buying a car last year without having to buy a family car because of my size.  I still had to consider size but I did not have to get a family size car.  I was able to get a mid size car.

Not have to ask for seat belt extender when I fly now.  I am still big, but I am tall and my waist is small also so I have not needed one for the last 4 years.  Thanks for making me reflect on this today!

Oh my!!  I could tell you some horror stories on this one for sure!!  But why druge up old painful memories.

I was always proud of myself that I refused to let my weight stop me from seeing the world, but I always dreaded the plane rides and mentally I had to get myself together for the unexpected.  Praying the plane was not full, that the person did not mind me invading their space.  Yes this one is a blessing for me for sure and soon I hope to be even smaller.
