So...when the weight loss slows and you're tired of looking at the scale...what to do? GO SHOPPING!!!!

My new favorite place is Macys!!!! Especially since it's now clearance time lol

I went into Macy's to exchange a purse I got and a pair of jeans for William. I have always been too big to shop in there for myself for clothing. I would just get purses, housewares, linen etc...you get the idea. Well, it just so happens that the women's department is right behind the men's department, and I had never even noticed! So I figured I would look around to see what they have.

I found a pair of INC jeans (15.00), 2 pair of tommy hilfiger jeans (15.00 each), 1 pair of Calvin Klein jeans(15.00) and a tommy hilfiger jean jacket(21.00)!!! What is this on my bottom??? a designer label??? OMG!!!!! LOL

I was looking at the size 20 tommy jean jacket, tried it on and it was ok...but then I saw the size 18 jacket...tried it on and.....(i'm having a moment here lol)...it fit like it was made for me!!!!!

My original goal was to get into a size 18, and the designer things are cut smaller than the sizes in lane bryant, the avenue...etc...I think I almost fainted...and when I saw how much it was...omg!!! Can it really get better than this? Meanwhile, I thought I wouldn't be able to get into that 18 until my skin was removed so I was really astounded that it actually fit!!!

This is the first time since I was a teenager that I'm actually buying things I like...and...oh I left out that I actually went into the fitting room and tried all these things on! Before I would have found the largest most stretchy item and took it home to squeeze into in the privacy of my own home. But now here I am actually going into the fitting room...with designer clothes...omg omg omg!!!! ummmm did i say omg yet???

This is soooooooooooooooooo fabulous!!! And even more so that now I know I will lose more than i ever before imagined....

*sniff sniff* I am truly in awe...I just cannot believe how much my life has changed. I'm so encouraged everyday. I have not regretted this surgery even one moment. Even with my saggy skin...I feel fabulous...so much energy, so happy...sooo sooo sooo everything!!!! I have lost like 3 people...and I never ever want to see them again lol

I really have to say more than the number on the scale the NSV's are really what makes this all worth while...I don't think I ever really realized how much of a prison obesity truly is until now that have experienced the feeling of sheer freedom...every day is like the 4th of July lol

Let's see what NSV's we can discover now!!! Have a FANTABULOUS WEEKEND!!!!!!

That's great!!! I'm glad to hear that my shopping is positively impacting someone besides the credit card company LOL

Hang in there...the benefits far outweigh the effort!

First let me say that you are looking totally awesome!!  You are an inspiration to us all.

I know exactly what you mean about buying clothing you actually LIKE versus what covers your body.  I was shopping about 6 weeks ago with my daughter (who is of normal size) and I tried on a jacket which was a size 20 thinking that it would just fit.  Trying on clothes in general was not something I generally did in a store because nothing really fit so I would take it home and hope for the best.  I tried this jacket on and she said "Mom, you look like a little girl trying on daddy's suit coat.  Wayyy too big for you."  That was great.

Those NSV's are great!!

Thank you so much for the compliment!

That's what I love about this forum...people can relate to your experiences and feelings because they usually have shared some of the same! Congratulations on that wonderful NSV!!!

To me, honestly, they mean more than the number on the scale! Being able to be active in my life and walk around like a normal person doing "normal" things is better than any number I could ever see on the scale! I never measured my life by my weight pre surgery...so I certainly don't have time to do it post surgery!
