Crystal Light Slurpees are NOT light!!!

I just discovered by accident that Crystal Light Slurpees are NOT a low calorie drink as one would suspect.  Some friends said, "Hey, let's get Slurpees!"  I got excited, as 7 Eleven offer Crystal Light -- thinking that the stuff I use at home is 4 calories a serving - a HUGE Slurpee is probably 40 calories.

         I WAS SO WRONG!!!!

Barqs Rootbeer Flavored Slurpee - tastey, but I wanted to be good -- 66 calories for 8 oz
Crystal Light Peach Mango Slurpee - 60 calories for 12 oz - but I got a huge one, so still doing the math!

I am really curious where did all the calories come from???  I will be working on my own Crystal Light ice drink at home - with the CORRECT number of low calories!

Yikes!!!  You have to be careful with the crystal light frozen treats too.  The popscicles are OK like 15 calories but they have theese little sorbet cups that are like 40 cals (and of course they are heavenly!).

Sort of along the slurpee line, I love SF popsicles, but and getting bored of cherry, orange and grape.

Has anyone tried making Crystal Light popsicles? I remember having a popsicle mold kit when I was a kid, but I never worked really well. Or maybe I didn't WAIT long enough - LOL!

It was a slap to the face when I found out the calorie count of Chrystal Light Slurpees!  I was thinking of trying the Crystal Light popcicle idea -- also think I may make ice cubes from Crystal Light - making it more Slurpee like when I destroy it in my blender!

I will admit that Skinny Cow has some fabulous flavors - a fabulous sweet that I don't feel guilty indulging in ;)

Crystal light slurpees probably contain either isomalt or sorbitol and glycerin, sugar alcohols which will mimic sugar so that the slurpees can have that slurpee texture and mouthfeel and not freeze to a solid state.
