How often do you weigh?
I weigh twice a day and have from the very beginning. It keeps me accountable. I weigh every night because that high number motivates to do the right thing the next day and the lower number in the morning (which I consider my real weight) gives me a means to gauge how well I am doing at maintaining. I went almost two years though counting my weight on Monday mornings as my official weight and God bless, I lost every Monday. I am so thankful for no stalls during my journey that when the scale starting indicating a seesaw of the same 5 to 7 pounds, I couldn't get upset. Instead, as I said before, I use it to keep myself accountable.
I am such the wrong person to ask. I want to weigh 1 or 2 times a week, but I become scale obsessed. I find myself weighing everytime I go to the bathroom. On bad weeks, or when my husband catches my behavior on good weeks, my husband hides the scale. Yes I have looked for it, no I can't find it. So, I am sneaky when he is home. I have gotten better this last month. I weigh on Thursday/Friday and that weight is the one that counts. PERIOD! I do think weighing constantly affects me negatively. I don't know how. Oh, the addictions and the behaviors we will do to keep them. Ridiculous!
I will be out five yrs in Jan and have weighed everyday since before surgery day. It seems to keep me accountable and on the right track. If I have to much salt it shows or didnt have enough protein for the day it shows, or to many carbs or so forth. It is not for everyone and some can call it obsessed but it is what works for me and I know NOT weighing is what got me where I was to start with. Before I had surgery I weighed so much till had to go down to the local Kmart and weigh on there scale they had at the double doors as you come in and out. Think how much fun that was with everyone walking by me probably thinking hmmm jeez, why is wasting her time weighing lol....Margaret
Karma....What would life be without it? 250lbs gone! 410/160... Life's sweet!
I weigh once a month only at the doctors office. But I just got a scale that actually works and will give me the same reading more than twice in a row. So since I have had bad experiences with my scales I weigh every time I walk in the kitchen to make sure it still works! Now that I accept that it works it's back to once a month.
