Got my surgery date

I'm so excited.  I've been approved through the insurance company and now am scheduled for surgery on August 2.  I'll start he liquid diet on Monday.

Congratulations - that is very exciting.  Keep us posted how everything is going.

I wasn't told to go on a liquid diet before surgery, but I am hearing about a lot of people having to do so....

Congratulations! I am having surgery this coming Wednesday. Can't believe it is finally here! Good luck to you! The first three days on liquids only are tough but after that it is a breeze. I got really used to my protein shakes! They kept me full. I am on clear liquids only on Monday and Tuesday. Let us know how things go!

I have a question, how long do you have to be on the liquid diet??

Everyone is different. I asked my nurse about the liquid diet when I spoke with her today.
I wasn't told to go on a liquid diet at all, but I have heard of several people having to be on them.
From what I understood from her it depends on our liver size and several other factors.
