I might have an ulcer. I was having some stomach pain last week and the dr. prescriped protonix and carafate. It stopped hurting after a couple of days of the treatment. I have an EGD on the 19th to see what is going on.
I did walk everyday last week and was actually down to 270 on Thursday. Hate that stupid scale! :)
Hope everyone has a great week.

I have been battling some depression. It is not usually a problem for me but I get feeling overwhelmed with sadness. It will pass.
Still not exercising.....gotta get started. I also tried to post some before pics and current but have very slow dial up at home and could not get them to come through. I will try again. I don't see a lot of difference, didn't help the sadness much.
INKD- you are doing great!!! Congratulations. You inspire me.
Kim, I can relate to the scale. I was 235 yesterday but today is the official number!!!
Support group meetings this week, I am looking forward to them for sure.

Thanks Cheryl!
I been up and down and all over the place, and I think that's pretty typical for WLS'rs but just hang in there- it gets better. It took a while for me to notice a difference too and sometimes I still see 390lb me looking back, but I know it's not the truth!

Cheryl... hang in there Girl.. depression is very common after wls.. don't know why but most of us go through it.. I see a therapist and I go to a psych once a month.. they are helping me a lot.. I actually am on meds and it is helping..
The not exercising is part of the depression too.. you loose your gumption.. your motivation is out the window when you are down.. but the exercise will actually help you.. it will raise your mood level and help a lot.. try to get back to it as soon as you can...
As far as not seeing the changes.. most all of us have had that problem too.. it takes a long time to see the differences in yourself.. but they are there.. you have to notice a lot of it at first in how your clothes fit.. they start to get looser and looser and then you will start to drop sizes.. and don't forget to measure..
As far as the numbers on the scale they will jump around and will drive you nuts.. don't put too much emphases on the numbers.. yesterday I was at 189 and today back at 190....I just use it as a guide knowing that since it showed up once it will be back there soon.. look for the NSV's the non scale victories are as important as the numbers if not more.. I am sure you are already noticing things you can do that you couldn't do before...they all count as victories as much as numbers do..
The support group meetings are great.. glad to hear you are attending one.. they help a lot too.. I always feel so much better after leaving them..
Look for positives girl... they are there.. seek them out and concentrate on them .. I will be keeping you in my prayers for this to pass soon.. If it doesn't then please seek out help.. it may not go away on its own..
Prayers headed your way....
huggs....

Holy crap!!! 6.8 lbs in one week!?!? How in the Hell did I do that? I didn't even get in the 5 days of workout that I have been striving for.
The only thing that I changed is that when I get home after work (at midnight) I haven't been eating another meal. I simply drink my progein shake and skip anything else. I figure that 160 cals of the shake is more than enough to tide me over till morning and I haven't been any hungrier when I wake up so I guess it's okay.
Perhaps that is what did this but more probably the fact that I did have my TOM last week.
Hope everyone has a great week!!
Lucy
p.s. - I'm only 7.2 lbs away from having the correct weight on my drivers license. I don't even think that I told the truth when I first got my license when I was 16. Woooo Hoooo!!

I know what you mean... those carbs are way too habit-forming. I'm trying to focus on protein - that really helps me. Good luck this week. You are getting to such a great weight! 100 pounds is wonderful!
