Me and My New Bike!

So for my one-year surgiversary I bought myself a tropical burgandy beach cruiser...it's fun! It had been over 25 years since I'd ridden a bike, and it's true what "they" say...you never forget and it comes right back! I'm trading in monotonous gym-time for real-time action out in nature, way more my style. Of course, check in with me mid-summer when the heat and humidity here in South Florida will be off the charts, ewww! But I'm being optimistic and making it an evening ritual. I'm hoping that the final pounds will melt off with the help of this bike as I enter my 14th month post-op.

Check out latest pics in profile (cannot get them to paste into this post). Thanks for your support, everybody!

  I love the bike!  Enjoy!

50 lbs lost pre-op-the rest is post op.

Linda - good for you!  I love(d) biking in the past.  I hope to take it up again, too.

I checked out your pics and you look MAHVELOUS, dahling!  LOL   Truly - you do look just great.  I'm so happy for you and can't wait to be down some more, too.  Have fun biking.

The new bike looks great and so do you.. you have come a long way and made such wonderful accomplishments..

I bought a bike too,  but I have not gotten it out yet and tried to ride it..   I am so afraid of falling.. I have been so clumsy with the extra weight on that I think I might be that way on the bike.. my hubby bought me a helmet..lol... But just in trying to get on it, when I first got it home, I crashed and fell over and knocked the lens out of my glasses.. so I have been sticking to the recumbent bike.. maybe one of these days I will try again.     I love yours though..I had one similar to that many many years ago... with the fenders and all.. didn't know they made them like that now..

Keep up the good work.. RIDE ON...

huggs...

Thanks for the kind comments, friends! Mary, OMG, your new avi REALLY shows your 105-lb. loss, for real...looking gooD!!! Teresa, climb on your bike (with your helmet, if you'll feel more confident) and ride it on the lawn so if you wipe out it won't hurt. You'll be confident quickly, I bet...I do know how years of morbid obesity and its associated klutziness have made us cautious...truly, I'll prolly size up every piece of furniture for the rest of my life. But it's soo freeing, cruising on a bicycle...

HuGs to you, friends...you're very special peeps in my life and I'm honored to "know" you.

Have a great rest-of-the-week!~

I love your new bike!!!  Congratulations :)

My next reward is going to be a bike rack so that I can transport our bikes to a flatter area... we live up in the hills and no way is my butt biking them LOL

Haha, Michelle, re riding uphill! My mother tells me that even as a chubby toddler I would walk my trike or bike up the hill and coast down! Old habits never die! Luckily FL is flat, so I'm lucky like that...

I am scanning Craigs List for a bike rack myself so we can bring bikes camping, etc...enjoy your summer!
